Technically New Zealand had the first written recipe of the Pavlova, but being from Australia and it being my origin the first pavlova was created in Australia by a chef named Bert Sachse (according to record books I found at a local library). People believed he originated from the Americas, but he was pure blood Australian based off his parents DNA.

  17. Same. The name was something I'd expect from some Balkan dish. I wondered why my Serbian friend would never tell me about it, and I was further confused by the poll options.

    Found out the name is Russian and nobody actually knows where it's from.
