Olaf and I are planning on making a new unique mega mall and the plan was to put it on smp1 but then he brought up that smp1 already has so many. I am wondering which server needs a mall and if it will attract business on that server. The idea for the mall is to have something like Costco where a person pays a membership to gain access to really low prices. It will also include a non member section with higher prices. Please respond to the poll so we can figure out where to build. Disclaimer: this is not guaranteed to happen and we are still in early development.
Every server has at least 3 mega malls. A lot of them are never stocked. If you guys can keep it well stocked then it will probably be successful. I'm honestly not sure which server would be best, as I'm always in the wild.
Like I said we are in early development of the idea and that could change if enough people don't want it. Post ideas you want for the mega mall here too.
Smp2 Smp9 Smp1 All Great ones with malls. Just go there and buy its not worth making a huge mall when u can just sell to em
Uh 18005? 18646? 18003?! 18252?! Smp 9 has many malls if not wonderful shops I would say SMP 3 should have a new one
I voted for 8 (even though I don't shop mega-malls myself), but 6 or 8 would both be good choices. Would be nice to have something to drive intra-server visits, at least.
We want to make a new one for people to use. It is also much funner (yes that is a word now) to make a new and unique mall than to just sell to ones that already exist. So far it looks like smp3 and smp6 are in the lead and smp1 has no votes.
How are you going to give only members access? I'd say that you cover a wall with doors with access signs that a player's name is added to when they buy a membership... unless the memberships expire. Then that gets complex.
I was thinking of having the doors and signs. Memberships would expire so that would cause a small problem. The wall of doors would also look kind of ugly. Does anyone have a better idea for this? Another thing is the price of memberships. What is a reasonable price to ask for monthly?
I think you should not only have monthly, maybe 6 months or even a year? The price, well it depends the discounts they get and if it's even worth it.
I don't really think there should be memberships as that would stray people away from the mall. I think this because some people wouldn't want to pay extra to get better prices when they could go somewhere else for even better. And with memberships it would get really complicated know which memberships expired and who renewed theirs and so forth.
Even through I don't like megamalls, I suggest 3. It used to have a lot of popular shops, and it would be nice to see some again.
