  1. I've checked the wiki but couldn't find such a suggestion. I'm surprised it hasn't been made yet, so maybe I overlooked it, in which case I am sorry for crowding the suggestion forum with a doublet.

Title says it all : when searching for a nice place to establish an outpost, wouldn't it avoid future conflicts and disappointments if there was a way to know for sure you're not putting down your chest in an already claimed territory?

  2. +1 What would be even better is if dynmap had the ability to toggle on and off the different boundry lines of the established outposts... kind of like the residences in town.

    Surely this is possible devs?
  3. Empires update will address this,...I'm sure. We just have to be patient.
Also...I wouldn't necessarily want my base location visible on live map.
Neither a +1 or -1. Good idea, but empires update will determine how/if its still relevant in the future.

  4. I can't say for sure but in the current form of the establish outpost system I don't think this is possible. Their existence and boundaries are not hard-coded into the server (as Town residences are, I'd presume), so there wouldn't really be any point of reference for the command to work. With the future system, the outpost's boundaries will have to be part of the server for the various aspects of it to operate, so I'd imagine the system will be a bit more informative when it comes to where you can establish.

  5. Hi everyone!

to avoid revealing the location of a base, it could just tell "established territory" or "unclaimed territory", and no other info.
I guess when someone claims a territory, the center of it is recorded somewhere. I don't think it is a hugely demanding calculation to compare the position of the player and a circle of 4000 radius centered on every base that has a coord for its center matching the position of the player +/- 4000. Or something like that.

I have to check what this empire update is about! Haven't read about it yet.

  6. Good suggestion, but I think that 'established outposts' are recognised on here only: the game doesn't know about them. :)

  7. It's a guessing game but the best guess for freedom of claiming lies within the depth of the blackness.

  8. O Mighty One, I hear ya!
But still, I'd rather go 10000 blocks away than 20000 blocks away when I'll selfishly decide to claim an outpost for myself...

Sorry but I couldn't find a thread about a specific empire update matching the post of MrCDub? could anyone redirect me to it? Or explain to me what it will be about?
  9. There's probably a few sources, but this is the main one I usually refer to:

    That will be nice indeed!

  11. We aren't there yet. But such a command will be available when we finally get Empires released. School really has me tied up atm, otherwise I would hope to be making progress on projects such as this.

Moving to archives since we had already planned on this.
    Thank you for the suggestion.
