Thanks m8, I appreaciate this, i have been playing another economy server for a while, cause i need to try not to get bored

We're starting to get some very high entity numbers around the farms in the desert. This doesn't seem to be caused by the sheep, etc on the surface. Today it spiked at 750 entities which was causing lag in the area and probably messing up the server (it crashed soon after).

I've culled the chickens and sheeep near me but these are small numbers. There's also a chicken coop with what looks like around 50-60 which doesn't need that many. And if anyone has underground farms in this area can you keep your numbers down?

Most likely the problem is caused by spawners. AFK grinding is discouraged and you definitely shouldn't let mob numbers get too high before you kill them. Also, if there are grinders near the surface we may have to look at ways to disable them when people aren't using them as they could be triggered by people walking past.

We should try and solve this ourselves so we don't have to bother any of the busy mods.

Maybe redstone lamps or cheaper piston torch control? :x
