Awesome shots. I have to go around the LLO with default textures. Ther are parts I only know with the Sphax pack. The L9 system is really cool. I often stumble across it when I am lost mining. It helps me get back to a place I know or at least reminds me I am not too far out without having to look at the live map.
That's the highest-res version I have (you have to click on the image to see the full-res version). I had to convert it from PNG to JPEG this time because the PNG version was too big to add as an attachment to the post (it's over 1MB). The PNG version is a little higher quality. I added the PNG version to the LLO website.

I did some calculations on the bridge comparing dimensions to the original golden gate. The ratio is roughly 1:8. Our bridge is ~240 blocks long and floats 10 blocks above ground. That means the pillars should be around 35-40 blocks high above water (=25-30 from the tracks) for it to work. I can make those but am lost on how to do the suspension wires nicely. Well, we are expanding, as always. I am making a bridge at the moment to the west. LLOlympics construction goes nicely, at least from my part. There is an extra thread about those too. Oh, was I right that you said the museum construction on the western platform should be taken over by other members?
Sort of. I'm just looking for some workers to work on the museum while I'm gone. They would be under my guidance so my image of the museum will still come out. Will the bridge to the west have a rail line? It's a pain to walk all the way there.
Oh ok. I thought you gave up the project. Well, dylan (a member looking for a new project) sent you a PM. I think he wants to scale it up a bit. I am sure you can work something out. Yes. The main purpose of the bridge is to have a nice rail line. The bridge itself already has a working line but it is not connected to anything. You can go pass the bridge by rail and then walk the remains of the nether line.
Yes, I got the PM from Dylan. My plan is to have us co-work on it. That way construction will go faster, Dylan will have a project to work on, and I'll get the satisfaction I worked on a major LLO project. The size...I agree with Dylan on scaling it up more. I don't have that much experiance building...
Perfect Since the museum will be a community building it is even better if at least two members work together on it Actually things like these reassure me in my belief in the EMC / LLO community and make me go around and repair griefings. As long as we stick together we can build and repair anything
Proposal for some new FAQ items. Q: I came across the LLO by accident and poked around a bit, taking stuff and making holes to get out because I got confused. Then I saw how awesome it is. Can I still join? A: Sure! Thanks for being honest. Accidents happen and as long as you did not mean to grief or steal nobody will (or at least should) be mad. If you remember what was destroyed please tell us. Q: A creeper hugged me and destroyed parts of the LLO. What should I do? A: Tell us! If you got the stuff to repair it would be nice if you fix it right away. If not please tell us on our EMC thread. If possible include a screenshot and describe where exactly the creeper hugged you and where you think it came from. Q: I found this spot at someones build where a creeper spawned. What should I do? A: Tell us! Also feel free to put torches up to secure the place. This will not be considered griefing even if it is not a public place. If you do not have any torches there might be a creeper safety foundation chest with some near you. Q: I found this place that seems to have been griefed. What should I do? A: Tell us, if you are sure it was griefed also tell the mods. Make screenshots of it to document the destruction. If you want to help repair that is awesome but please document the griefing first and notify mods. Else your noble efforts might make it harder to catch the griefer.
