  9. #payfororlando. this is so sad, this is why guns SHOULD NOT be owned by civilians anywhere :( :( I really think this "Islamic State" thing has gone too far. they should just be called the ruthless murderer group and should not be making the Muslim community look like terrorists. I just hate it because any extremist of any religion would kill non members and they would still view each other as right because they took what their holy book too far. :( :(. And BBC news says 50 people and counting.

  10. Ugh, Hate people sometimes... Just wait for tomorrow when Hilary and Trump go around and say we need gun control because of stuff like this, and then it never happens.
Just some gun control humor to maybe lighten the mood.

Not surprised it happened in Florida though, this place messes people up. I know from experience .

Edit: Trump endorsed by NRA also look at the guys face in the video, he practically flinches when he announces the endorsement of Trump lmao!

  11. At the risk of turning this into a discussion, not my intention, but...

Not too sure if you can approach this like that. A counter argument could be that if there was another person in that bar who carried a (licensed) gun then they might have been able to prevent casualties. Of course even that is theoretical talking on my part, even so I don't think it would work this way.

I live in a country (Netherlands) where civilians aren't allowed to own guns. In exceptional cases where someone can own a gun (strictly licensed) then they're not allowed to carry it with them "just like that".

Well, despite that we still get plenty of shooting incidents here. The way I see it the only difference is that in our country the bad guys are now armed and the rest of the civilians got nothing to protect themselves with.

    This isn't a right/wrong kind of situation :(
  12. In a bar if "normal" civilians aren't allowed to have guns a club bouncer would have a hand gun in case there is a situation. normal would be just everyday people and not security guards.

  13. It is very sad and I wish there was an answer. We can debate the gun control thing to death but we all know that it won't change. We also know it is not just Islamic extremists that do these things. Look at Sandy Hook. There it was a mental health system that went bad. And again who wants to pay to provide mental health services? We can pay 1.45 trillion dollars on a fighter jet but refuse to take care of our people in need. I'm afraid this will also give more energy to Trump's intolerant religious rhetoric. Bottom line I'm afraid is it will continue getting worse here and everywhere before it gets better.
  14. I'm hoping you meant million/billion because I don't think there is a Fighter in existence that cost 1.45 trillion dollars.
  15. Google the F-35. $1.45 trillion dollars. That's our priorities as a society.

  16. Terrorism has no religion. Calling us Muslims terrorists does not solve anything. Pray for the world.
  17. "A single Air Force F-35A costs a whopping $148 million. One Marine Corps F-35B costs an unbelievable $251 million. A lone Navy F-35C costs a mind-boggling $337 million. Average the three models together, and a “generic” F-35 costs $178 million."

  19. I apologize, I was not specific enough. A single jet does not cost $1.45 trillion. But the program for this particular fighter jet (model of jet) does.

  20. You make the same arguments that so many others make, and its true though- take the guns from civilians but criminals can easily get guns smuggled in, then the civilians cannot defend themselves if need be.

This is how gun control should work:

Also, back on topic... What benifit do you get from attacking a gay bar? I understand Islam (considering this was declared an act of terrorism?) is completely against homosexuality so is this why an attack gets carried out? It is sad when religion is used as an excuse to commit violence but religion has been the cause of violence for... forever. :(
True, terrorism does not have a 'religion'. However this was carried out by (allegedly) an Islamic extremist which was using religion for his actions. Not all Muslims are terrorists and I do hate when people say that (I am the whitest person around and even I find it offensive when trump practically calls all Muslims terrorists). I mean haven't you (not specifically you..) seen the Lone Survivor, that man was saved by multiple Muslim people at the risk of their lives.
