[HELP NEEDED] "game crashed"

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous' started by Impaxis, Jan 28, 2020.

  1. I was not sure in wich section of the forums I am supposed to post this, I hope this is correct!

When I start up Minecraft it crashes..
I had this issue months ago too, but somehow it disapeared.
    But it is back! woohoo!...

I have zero knowledge about computers/laptops etc.
I've been using google and tried ALOT to fix this.
Nothing worked so far, so I thought lets ask the EMC members!

    • Deleted res packs.
    • tried starting up without forge etc.
    • Tried reinstalling MC.
    And a few other things..

    This is what I get:

The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: net.minecraft.client.renderer.StitcherException: Unable to fit: minecraft:font/ascii, size: 256x256, atlas: 0x0, atlasMax: -1x-1 - Maybe try a lower resolution resourcepack?

I hope someone can help me out, cause I just wanna play Minecraft!:D

  2. Could you post the full crash report?
Also, what are your system specs?
  3. According to the error, I would recommend that you try launching MC without any resource packs whatsoever. See if that works. If it does, then it's the resource pack causing the issue.
  4. He said he already tried that...
  5. Ah, that's what "res packs" are. I've never heard of that specific abbreviation before, so you cannot entirely blame me for not understanding that. ;)

  6. I found an older thread on Reddit that could be of help:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/4xx1hz/forge_keeps_crashing_at_mojang_screen_help/

If what is said is true and this thread is relevant to your specific issue, then, unfortunately, your machine may be too old.

    last random question
when you use forge does it run optifine as well when running?

these are random questions i come put with when looking through the report
  9. Separately or at the same time? It's not clear if you've tried starting completely fresh (do backup any valuable data before attempting this).
  10. All at the same time. Deleted every thing.
  11. 1; Yes, the standard MC launcher.

2; I have no clue how to check that! I am brainless when it comes to PC stuff.

3; I did, but I can try a full restart again. (Deleting all maps etc.)

4; Yes, I use forge including optifine.
  12. Well.. I am really confused.
But I deleted everything again (maps etc.) and installed MC again.
Right at this moment it is working again.

I wanna thank you all for your help!
I hope it wont happen again in the future.
  13. Cool. :p
Have you already installed Forge etc again and tried to play with that?
  14. I only have Optifine installed. For now I am leaving Forge for what it is. In case that was the issue, I dont wanna go through this again hahah
