PoC, I think we woke a sleeping giant

Extract from the Last Light Outpost thread posted by shavingfoam on Saturday:

"Meeting Notes:

• Discussed ideas on how to bring more people to the LLO.
  • Add forum link to signature
  • Create new forum thread for gaining new members (e.g. "Looking for something interesting to do?")
  • Make an open invitation in Town Chat.
• Discussed building a new Guest House in West LLO on mba's land by the Harbour. The bottom floors would be used for a Community Center, and upper floors would be used for room.
• Guest Houses can be used as "base camps" for new players.
• ..."

Some of these ideas we already have implemented for a while...

The saps and spawn eggs are for Szymon in Carthaga. I think my player is in Carthaga, but I wont be sure until the 15th of Nov.

Promotions

I am very happy to announce the promotion of many of our members. I know some were waiting for this quite some time, but here it finally is.The members of the People of Carthaga all have contributed in their way to advance our community and make the City of Carthaga a better place to live. This was only possible because so many helped and worked together, or with Henry Fords words:

"Coming together is a beginning;

keeping together is a progress [or a process? ];

working together is success"

PoC, here are your new ranks:

Diamond promotion:

5corpio528, for his big efforts to extend the Carthaga netherrail system, making it a save and nice place. In addition 5corpio528 is always looking for new stories for The Carthaga Times and keeps us and the people in smp-town informed by already having published 4 issues.

Additionally, 5corpio528 got his second specialist title as "Chief of infrastructure" as he worked out the best possible connections for our rails.

Gold promotion:

jameslikens, he build great machines and farms, like the dark room spawner and the item sorter. He is also responsible for the mine close to Carthaga. But most recently he has helped 5corpio528 a great deal with the netherrail extension.

Iron promotions:

BlueVault13, she has helped a lot with the animal arrangements, set up a manual sheep farm and greatly donated for the purpose of the Carthaga Towers in smp-town.

lindseyd, she helps greatly by organizing the apartment building, helped with the opening party and did some gardening on top of the building.

Airgasious, he is always up to gather bulk amounts of resources, the greatly helped in ongoing projects. He is also always up to give a hand when needed and helped in several projects.

SzymonPaterman, he is not afraid of a big challenge and started building a wither farm after exploring thousandth of blocks in the nether to find the right location. Previously he helped with the squid farm and gave us a really nice horse parkour. And there seems to be more coming...

Coal promotions:

dominiclikens and donnalikens, these little fellows are around for quite some time and are always willing to help out or give little presents to everybody.

SEPTHEKID, he has started a monumental build, 'The Carthaga Towers' to represent our community in smp-town. This is the first step for him on the ladder, while continuing with the towers more promotions will follow.

Rainbowpony1000, she has extended the living quarters in Carthaga and donated some genuine materials for the Carthaga Towers. Additionally, she took care of our well being by working the food farms.

Spaskiba, he arrived in Carthaga and almost immediately disappeared in the Nether where he build a massive fortress, that will be the basis for a nether city. Not only he used a very valuable block for the structure but also gathered it all himself.

Congratulations and thanks everybody for the great contributions!

It is a great time for the city and

Carthaga will never forget what you did for us.

Finally, some organizational things:

• Every member that recently achieved coal rank or higher, but hasn't given me her/his head, please throw it in my mail box in Carthaga! I need it for the 'Hall of Members'. Please do as soon as possible, to prevent forgetting it and so we get this complete with all members.
• Iron rank members can create there own profession including posting jobs and employing other members, so if you are interested to take responsibility for a certain aspect, let me know. Mostly we need more project support officers, decorators and architects.
• If you feel like you are very good in something, please prove it to the PoC and we will announce you a specialist in this field.

Yes, absolutely. Maybe you can come up with some sort of logo for Carthaga? That would be great.
Also Sweetcutey has a job up in the job centre about pixel art. You should message her in-game or talk to her in-game.

Any jobs/projects that need to be done around Carthaga? I'm always happy to help

Here are some city maintenance jobs that need to be done:

1. Move the horse stables
The stables and horses need to move from the south end to the north end, because the horse track starts there.

2. Finish the light house
This is an unfinished part of the harbour. Please continue all the way up like the base of it is made.

3. Finish the sky scrapers
There are the bases of two unfinished sky scrapers that wait for further upgrades

4. New residential area
We need more space again for town plots But please don't flatten the area and leave some of the trees. It should keep a natural look.

Remove #1
The big cobble spawner and the squid farm need to go. Both don't work and don't look to good.

Remove #2
This area will be needed for the new residential area and it isn't used at all

Remove #3
The old entrance to the gold mine isn't in use anymore. We can use the space for something else.

Remove #4
Unfinished build without purpose. Can go...

Great Just see what you can do. The light house can't be destroyed as it is merely more than a ring of blocks. The difficulty with it are the materials: Clay and quartz!
