Love the update but I suggest we should set up a default bank? Since players randomly loaning everywhere wont go well. Maybe get one bank staff that will treat every bank scam case? However thatll cost lots of time
Sounds like some good news ^_^ Can't wait to see the winners of the Star Wars build comp when that gets around to being done, until then I'll brush up on the changes to the rules
Now I may be able to attend some firefloor events! Yay Also, not sure if this has been changed (or maybe previously), but beacons are only able to go in at least 5, ugh
It was changed yes. Auctions on the forums are designed for bulk or hard to find items. Beacons at 1 each no longer fit into this category and it is better to find them in a shop if you are only looking for 1.
We still strongly suggest against participating with any banks/loans, but enough issues were brought to our attention that didn't really warrant our actions so we reviewed changing the official policy to match how we treat things. They are still a non-supported action and Staff will not get involved. We just also won't ban for it.
I dunno, this kinda sounds like "scamming is now legal" to me. Like there's this part of the Empire that's just the Wild West and the law will turn a blind eye to any goings-on there. Someone's gonna make millions off folks from this change and they'll be untouchable.
That is a majority the way I see it but I might be old But krysyy is helping out staff due to the fact that players need to self advocate. You can say this for the build flag, you're giving permission to build or destroy your residence. They MIGHT greif. This is exactly that, you MIGHT loose items if player A goes derelict, get banned, or removes access.
Almost this exactly. The issue with the old policy is that it was not realistic. We can't go around banning people because they loaned their buddy 15k to buy a promo. We can't expect everyone to protect their residence perms either. We give you the ability to CHOOSE whether or not you want to participate in one of these situations that put your items/rupees at risk. If you don't want to loan money to someone, then don't do it. You won't ever have to worry about not being paid back. If you think it's worth the risk, then go for it. In all honesty, a good portion of these loans we've seen go on 'under the table' turn out just fine. I'm not saying that yours will, but they aren't ALL bad. Our official policy is that which we back up with punishments if you break the rules, etc. We felt that we could not justify rightfully taking action against someone for simply participating in a loan deal and we've long had that point of 'well it says _______ but really ______'. We have to have something that we can stand by instead of the past situations of turning an eye from these gray areas. Especially with the prevalence of items in player museums being proudly displayed as 'on loan from', we modified the official policy to fit more into what we already do.
I just use my alt as a bank account xD. If I need money i with draw it from it xD best solution there.
I got something for referrals, nice Thanks! Need to find somewhere new now though seeing as how policies are changed. I'll find somewhere else more permanent to look when ever the next tips come out so that we know where we should go Nice to see the change on the loans page, but still a bit iffy about how you disregard contracts. Every person that loans items to my museum has a contract with me to get items back when ever they want via PM on forums and every action is recorded on there to assure smooth transactions. There shouldn't ever be any problems but players aren't going to help out with my museum and lend so often if they don't have that safeguard... as I say, I very much understand your reasoning, but if possible, it should be worked upon in the future to have some sort of official safeguard and tracking for loans perhaps so that we can do them without all of the hassle. It'll make things easier for players and staff should have less load too, but these are all just ideas that we can work upon for the future!
We've looked at numerous ways and there simply isn't a solution that would allow adequate tracking. Contracts in books and forum conversations are semi-safe, but when there is no proof of items actually being returned and we have a player saying they never received their item back, but your 'contract' or conversation says that you did, it becomes an issue. If you gave all your rupees to another player as a loan and we were invited to one conversation where it looks like it was a donation and not a loan, but not the second where you two worked out a new deal, etc it would lead to a problem. Without adequate logs of that item moving from player to player, there is no way for staff to legitly support the action so as the bad guy, I have to officially state we cannot get involved and things are done at your own risk. I'm not saying we won't ever get involved. You can be assured that if staff notices something is really off, then an investigation will occur and both parties will be contacted to retrieve these detailed logs and support their 'case', but that point will be decided by staff alone and we refuse to do that for every single instance as it takes sometimes up to a week or more to look over the evidence and determine course of action. Something we simply don't have time for with every little loaned item.
To a certain degree, yes they are allowed... But remember that staff will still not get too involved if something goes wrong. Make sure you have a proper read through the updated page
