i found a glitch when i was making red leather armor it allowed me to make about six with one leather pant and one rose red ( i threw the other leather pants away not wanting to get in trouble for duplicating)

You need to use the vanilla minecraft launcher to force the update and it will affect that as well.

Actually - jeb said that 1.4.3 had so many more bugs too that they'd go ahead and release 1.4.4 - says so on http://minecraft.net/ under jeb's twitter :

Since there were new issues in 1.4.3, we will not update Minecraft yet. Instead, we'll post a 1.4.4 pre-release, probably tomorrow.
