Probably the biggest advantage of me getting an SSHD is that since getting that, I have kept my files tidy! No dozens of folders I never look in, and no hundreds of files I might once want to look at again but likely will not.

However, of course I don't like actually _deleting_ such stuff, so it's still getting backed up on other drives. :P I mean, because of Moore's Law and stuff, old files take up relatively little room anyway.

:D - well, the thing is, I've always had multiple computers and multiple drives... so one (relatively small) part of what I had to sort out was a backup/copy from two drives that were from/in a different computer, from back in 2016. Yes, that backup actually also contained stuff that I had to still save.

I've also cleared over twenty .minecrafts, many of which were MultiMC .minecrafts and therefore had 5 .minecrafts inside them too... I had to take out all the screenshots and saves. :P

And stuff is all over the place! Copies from here, a bit there, some more there, oh hey there's something too, "where the heck did that come from", etc etc... :P Recently my main HDD became full (1TB - full was 10 GB left, literally... :P) so I had to resort to storing important stuff on my second HDD too... aaaaahhhh more stuff all over the place. :P

There's also lots of stuff that I had never properly stored before, and instead just dumped somewhere because I didn't feel like sorting it. Sooo much stuff. Not everything is necessarily big, bit also a lot is. One .minecradt cluster was 10 GB. Then there was that one folder of .minecrafts (wow I actually sorted something somewhat!)

that contained over 50 screenshots and saves folders inside it, in like 10 random .minecrafts, many of which contained many sub.minecrafts. Fixing this is what I worked on last night. :P

I also have screenshots from a different game. So far, I found two different locations, and I know that there are at least 3 more, but I'm fairly sure that there will be many more locations than just those 3... :P

How I fill actual space? Weeeeeelllll I might or might not have nearly 500 GB of music.... whoops. :P Most of it is recorded by me (on the computer) and with video, and therefore quite large. :P

What you need is Windows 10 :) Seriously: it can manage some space for you and so far.. that worked out pretty well for me. Especially after I told it to clean out my downloads after a month or so (also take note of older Windows versions).

I, very much sadly, have Windows 10 now, and have had it for a little under 4 months. :P It did not in any way assist me in cleaning my mess out. :P I was done a few days after this message, but am still only left with 80 GB free on one of my hard drives... I guess I might have to go get an extra one sometime... :/

I shall use Windows 10 to add a to do telling me to tell you tomorrow... well, how to activate this :) Settings -> System -> Opslag -> "slim opslaan configureren". That can seriously help. I shall now remove my todo :P

Ah, thanks. :P That's basically just a thing that can clear out the downloads folder (which I don't want because there is some important stuff in there), the prullenbak (trash bin) (which I do manually anyways, as I often immediately notice the changed icon),

and temp files (which is useful, but none of these temp files are stored on my HDD, and you can get rid of those via "Schijfopruiming" (search for it in the start menu) anyways. :)).

I don't put important stuff in my Downloads folder, I sometimes don't retrieve it from there. :P

Then how does it get in there? ;) Ah, it is the default place to save downloads for some browser configurations.
