    we had a really bad thunderstorm last night too with very close by lightning too, didn't really help with the whole 'trying to sleep in the heat' thing

    Yes, London is also set for record-breaking temperatures, and my sister's boyfriend, whose grandfather died a few days ago, has to get back to the Netherlands, but most public transit already got cancelled out of precautions.

    Ah, interesting! Where I'm at in France right now it's alsi really quite hot, but in the Netherlands it's insane, 39.3 °C in Eindhoven, shattering the previous national record of 38.6.... and it'll possibly/likely be even hotter today...

    Uh? I read a few days ago that the record was 39.2, set in 1944, and that it was almost broken last year, at 39.1.

    Aaaaaaand it reached 40.7 in Gilze-Rijen today, and 40+ in 7 other weather stations too.... yay to the weather in the Netherlands... :P It was quite hot here too, but it probably didn't feel as hot as in the Netherlands. :P And we were treated by a bit of rain today, after which it turned nice and cool. :D
