Or maybe be more realistic and realise there is no relationship to be had with any God. I personally find it fickle to place faith in something so subjective to individual interpretation and illogical. Why not look at a garden and be amazed without having to believe that there's fairies at the bottom? If you replace a wick, it's always going to run out again - why not get rid of it entirely?
Also Belac, it's utterly impossible to not sin. You've probably sinned today. So many things constitute sin that everything you do will be a sin. The Bible even says so when Jesus dies to cleanse humanity of its past and future sins. We're allowed to sin and be, in essence, sin free.
Listen I'm just trying to offer sound advice not say you need to give up Christianity all together ok? It's easier to mend the wick and re evaluate your religion than to throw away the wick and find a new religion
You don't get a new one. You just don't replace it. You look to fact, what's in front of you and the experiences Earth grants you herself or you make for yourself. I don't have to believe that there's an afterlife to find meaning and pleasure in what I see and do in my life.
I recommend not believing and believe that Christianity and religion as a whole aren't logical or based in reality. However, I'm not an evangelical atheist and I despise when religion is evangelical, so I don't think you should or not. It's a mere alternative to what Belac recommended for an immensely personal matter to you, and only you can decide which you'd rather go with.
No belac, Alt has every right to not believe in God, its his choice, and its my choice to believe in one. It doesn't make any of us less human. To Alt God isn't real, so there would be no point saying that he is real to a non-religious person.
I'd be happy to discuss my leanings in a PM later if you'd like. I feel like being limited by words in a status section is too little to explain my reasonings concisely and can make discussion appear unnecessarily hostile.
I know i'm going against you belac right now, and i'm sorry, but wouldn't that be the same as a religious person telling an athiest that God is real? In that case you shouldn't be telling people God is real because it may not be real at all to them.
Sure Alt, send a PM if you want...
It's fine Otus I get it and yes it's the same thing and I'm sorry if I offended you Alt it's just force of habit no human has the right to try to enforce his beliefs on others who don't want it
No offense taken. We're all entitled to freedom of thought and religious belief and I would never wish to encroach upon that. I hope I didn't offend you either.
You did seem kind of in the mood of "Forget your religion" but I hate to be that guy who acts like the victim in a religious conversation and takes all the offence. That's the only mild offence I got from this.
"I know i'm going against you belac right now, and i'm sorry, but wouldn't that be the same as a religious person telling an athiest that God is real? In that case you shouldn't be telling people God is real because it may not be real at all to them.

I wish I could press Like...
I'm not worried about you, I think God will take care of you as long as you let Him. :)
Remember that there are two definitions of religion:
1. The belief in a reality beyond what is perceptible by the senses, and the practices associated with this belief.
2. A particular system of such belief, and the rituals and practices proper to it.
The second can be a helpful means for the first, but it's not necessary. :) Since 2015 I've been to church very little, but my relationship with God has grown regardless.
I think religion brings a bad rap in most cases and seems restrictive and even dumb to some others, but I guess having a strong faith with the core of your religion is key.
