  2. 1. Your "did and did not"s here are not correct.
what the heck does that last sentence even say?!?

    2. This post is in bad taste, even for you.
  3. I don't think this thread is conducive to EMC's guidelines, of course I will let the mods and the rest of the community speak for themselves.
  4. So, the moral of the story is to find ways to end our lives alternatively to escape, in your words, Alzheimer's?

Sometimes I think this stuff is meant for good spirit, but I cannot agree with this. Not even to joke.

Suicide by smoking is a sad way of showing how little one cares about those that care for them. And Alzheimer's, geez... it's cruel what it does to people. That is a fate that I would argue is worse than death.

Nobody should be made to feel like they have to cut their life short for any reason. I've been there. I've walked those long nights. Don't be a reason to send someone there.

Just live and be good to people. And when they lose their minds and forget who you are, hold their hand and show them the way.
  5. Not to be that guy, but english is not his first language, not mad at you:)
  6. this is the most insightful and amazing thing i have read in the past decade. Thank you for bestowing this knowledge upon us. I will be deeply considering this constantly throughout my day to day life. I hope you bless us with more of your wisdom soon!
  7. Katy spent an inordinate amount of time teaching him exactly how to spell "did and did not", so I say she has good reason to be mad.

  8. Did and Did not was indeed spent time discussing. I sold me soul to do it...
His photoshopped chat records will prove it

However, his judgement has improved past this type of thing... at least I thought. Still waiting to hear what that last line is supposed to say, before I become anything more than just disappointed in him.

  10. Daanhu succeeded in getting a discussion going but the two topics selected this time shouldn't be made into a joke.
  11. Fair enough
  12. this was correctly typed rigt
i did try and use the rule
but i probely mis typed the last centence
it was please dont smoke becouse if u dint (dont know the englis word ) get it alrady u will die

and the thing was more like if u smoke there is a tinny chance u get alzheimer but there is a wayhigher chance u will die and thats nog good

but aperently this treat contains 2 discusions now about my englis

  13. even assuming this is a joke that can be funny, why is it in "Community Discussions: Conversations about our EMC Community!"?

  14. I knew someone who I was close to had Alzheimer's. Passed a few days later and it is not something to joke with.

So basically, please do not joke around with Alzheimer's disease.

This was never meant to be posted at all. Watch what you post ok?
  15. I would really like some elaboration on this comment.

The human brain is made up of over 100 billion neurons and trillions of their associated synapses. Alzheimer's is a neurodegenerative disease in which neuronal proteins misfold and cause neurons to die, synapses to break down, and the regions of the brain affected by the disease to shrink.

However, there are so many neurons and synapses in the human brain that by the time Alzheimer's is even noticeable, the affected person will - quite often - have been unknowingly living with it for around two entire decades. It can take up to another three decades for it to remove so many of your brain's functions that your body doesn't remember how to stay alive.

It is usually a very slow-moving disease. It is not like cancer where it can build up in the background, cause a collapse at work, and have you wake up to the news that you've got weeks to live. While I've heard of it running its course within five or so years, I've never heard of an Alzheimer's diagnosis resulting in the patient's death within days.

So, I have to ask (and you don't have to answer), did your person get diagnosed with Alzheimer's during the very, very late stages, or did they pass away from unrelated causes (or something that happened because of the Alzheimer's)...?
  16. Thanks big guy I have already adapted the information I learned from this post into my everyday life and am currently averaging 3 cartons of cigarettes a day. Has helped a lot with preventing alzheimer's disease.
  17. So have I! I also smoke the wrappings and boxes to keep the lungs clear
  18. Part 2 of our lesson. The apostrophe takes the place of the vowel. Same word. Same rule.

    Did not = didn't = didnt (misspelled)

If we did nothing else today, we corrected that.

  19. I've heard this joke before, but it's a good one, and could make some people think, I suppose! Even still, in the end I don't think it will be too effective. However, this is not the place to discuss how to cut back people's tobacco use. In fact, I don't think we can discuss that on EMC at all, but if anywhere, it'd be in the Controversial Topics section, not in Community Discussion.
