[Strangest Thing that's Happened to YOU on EMC]

Allrighty. Let's get started. Share the strangest, weirdest, craziest thing that's happened to you on EMC. In game, or on website.

Mine? Once, I connected onto utopia looking for a cool mall to buy from. I spawned in the middle of an abandoned residence. A player was standing there when I got on. I forget his username, but I remember what he did. I stood there for about 15 seconds before the player typed in chat, "REMEMBER THE POTATO!" and he threw me one, baked potato. The player disconnected right after he did so.
I still have the potato to this day. LOL

I found a random player in the middle of the wastes afk in a hole...

Lol. Anyone else?

Strangest thing I encountered... I was setting up some examples for my residence sub-zone guide on my 3rd residence, amongst which a teleport sign to demonstrate that you could even use those sub-zones as extra tp sections. Now, you need to know that if you don't set up a teleport point in your sub zone (/res tpset) then you'll be teleported near the subzone. A bit comparable to using /res unstuck.

Yah... well, when you try this on my 3rd res. you're teleported near the subzone. But because there's a HUGE underground tunnel below the road you'll actually end up there. Under the road.

I mentioned this in a thread somewhere and Aikar responded and explained that those tunnels were actually left overs from years back.

That was a really strange but very cool find!

Ok! When I was a new player still in the tutorial (the old one) I logged off when I hit some tutorial questions. About a week later, I logged into EMC and it spawned me OUTSIDE of the tutorial question boxes. I was on a strange super flat and I saw command blocks and stuff. I logged off and on and I was all good, but it could have been a problem because on the old tutorial you couldn’t talk (or cry for help) until you complete the tutorial.

I was once followed, with my friend, to my base in the wilderness. He logged off when we reached it and I did /p on him for weeks afterwards and he never logged in again.

We did get griefed afterwards though.

Edit: would also like to add we never saw him until he was stood in the base. We noticed a player following us on the live map when we were very close to it and turned around trying to look for someone or a name tag. Nothing. We get inside and play it off as a coincidence - someone was just travelling and happened to be right behind us - but hear our front door open and he's stood there, then just logs off. And he had to have watched us go inside because this thing was underground in the side of a mountain with the door covered up.

About 6 years ago a very influential person pressured one of my friends to greif one of my res's. Took me a week to find out who did it and after I found out I confronted the influential person. The conversation turned into a screaming match, all caps, and maybe some cursing between all of his friends and mine. Lasted about two hours before the server was brought back to a sense of normalcy by the mods. Was a very crazy week that week. These events are what lead to me creating my corporation, SSRC. So I guess every dark cloud has a silver lining. Good thing is I have most certainly matured since that event but it is still on of the crazier stories I have on EMC.

I was in my first bidding war for a slew of promo against a Mod (since retired). This guy didn't give up we were in over a million rupees. Which seems kind of low considering some of the auctions I've seen lately. However it involved my first million rupees so to me it as huge at the time. I must've been taunting him by saying I only wanted a certain item out of it cause I soon received a pm. A retired Mod counter offered me a very sweet promo package which included the items I wanted but added something even rarer. So I stopped biding and was soon outbid and took the better offer. (Reading that back, it's not strange at all.)

I wrote a goal book for 2017 and placed in the time capsule at the end of 2016. One of the goals was to become a "Mod" and the strange thing is, it came true. It's kind of strange cause the only other goal was to build a pink glass castle which I didn't do.

Thought this one was kind of weird, while I was in the wastelands mining clay and I had 2 players run up to me and start hitting me like they wanted to kill me, to their embarrassment, it's a Non-PVP server! I thought that was pretty weird...

1. Watching a hoard of pigmen chase Scharb around till they killed him while he was making his gold farm. I pearled up into a tree and laughed hysterically. We had a great time killing an army of pigmen to get his stuff back from them.
2. Corrupted's MoMo navy. Corrupted put every enraged mob into a boat.
3. Tesselating block errors out at wild south, and the mess that caused.
4. The time we made a cave spider farm with about 5-6 spawners, and we operated it by "boat bait". Because being chased by a cave spider platoon in a boat is a great idea!

My incident wasn't SMP8 shenanigans.. I'm certain it'd happen on 6 if I were working on anything nether there But yeah, it isn't normal, is it?

On a good note, I landed safely in the building I was working around... minus five hearts...

3. Yup, the abandoned project Slvr picked up (then half abandoned and I picked up *eye roll*) (Love ya slvr, just joking around, don't murder me).... I hope her new Squid Doom design doesn't end like that...

I once found a time capsule in the frontier, really far out. It was a locked chest, said is was a time capsule, with no date.

And, it was surrounded by creeper heads

I thought not many strange things had happened to me, but reading these nice posts, I'm recalling some things...

The one I'll share now: once I was in town chat with two new players. One of them was a girl of about 11 years, if I recall, and the other was a boy of 6 years old. To be honest, I thought it was rather strange to begin with that a 6-year old kid would be playing on a Minecraft server. But I didn't know what it did to 6-year old boys to see a female Minecraft character. The kid kept telling the girl that he wanted to marry her, in town chat. The girl politely declined, but the kid wouldn't give up, and insisted on the girl marrying him. I started interfering, and then some others did as well. I honestly don't recall how it ended, I guess the kid gave up eventually. I don't think he had any staff interaction, though.
