Yes, I have already introduced myself before, but my introduction was very lackluster and not my full potential for a proper introduction. Thus I would like to redo it in a more proper and organised way. Another reason for my reintroduction is because today (Well tomorrow morning, ) as of April 22nd 2018 is my 30th day belonging to this community, which is the best community I have ever been apart of in a VERY long time. So, without further stalling you, here is my introduction I made at 11 at night About me I am from British Columbia Canada, and I currently live on the west coast, i'm very proud to be Canadian also! As for my heritage, I am Scandinavian, with my Mothers side consisting of Danish, Swedish and German. My Father's background is mainly German, although some of his family consists of Poland, Holland and other Dutch countries. With this heritage, I am very proud of, as you can tell from my Nordic Village and my Narse Mythology, which I will get into a bit later As of this moment, I am 14, and currently in Grade 8. Boy school is a drag for me I like music a lot, as I play guitar. I'm also fascinated with history and mythology, specific time periods are basically around the Ancient Civilzations and the birth of the North Americas era around 1700-1800. As for my personality, I find myself laid back, chill and innovative. In real life, I am quite shy as well. Music Interests I love music very much! As you could probably see from my Otus The Music Snob thread series on the Community Discussion subforum, which YOU should definitely check out! As being a huge music fanatic, I enjoy a plethora of Rock inspired genres, those being, Rock n' Roll, Blues Rock, Hard Rock, Psychadelic Rock, Prog Rock and a huge spectrum of other rock subgenres! Metal of course, is my favourite as well, and I do find a great deal of enjoyment in Heavy Metal, Glam Metal, Sludge/Doom/Stoner metal and some few select songs scattered in each genre. I do find it a shame that many people find Metal as a genre only focused on screaming, death, depression and noisey instruments. Sure, many genres do include that, but a lot don't actually, and the original founders of metal, Black Sabbath, never used growly or noisy melodies, but more groovy rhythmic pieces with important messages, like war, protest, government, and other topics. With this said, you'll never find me listening to modern Pop music or modern rap, I absolutely, from the bottom of my heart despise this! This is the same for some Death metal which DOES feature the stereotypes everyone has of metal. I also don't listen to electronic or dubstep music, please, just give me some good hearty rock n roll and we are all good! My favourite bands though? Oh boy, I love a lot of bands, but the main ones include. Led Zeppelin, Greta Van Fleet, ACDC, Guns N Roses, KISS, The Sword, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, ZZ Top, Motley Crue, Free, Twisted Sister, Lynrd Skynrd and much more, just name them for me! I also really like Prince and Michael Jackson. R.I.P to the most talented musicians to ever step on this world, you will be missed. As for musical inspirations, Jimmy Page, Ace Frehley, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Slash, Angus Young and Brian Johnson, Robert Plant, Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne and much more! (Seriously, MUCH more) Interests I myself would consider myself very passionate, not only do I have a strong passion for music, I also enjoy history very much, give me any time period, I'll love it! Especially the time around the Revolutionary Wars and the War of 1812. Basically, any war with cool uniforms and Muskets, and i'm set! Don't for Ancient History either, I love it! Not only do I fancy history, but I also really enjoy Mythology, it's just so fascinating, the gods, the stories, the monsters, the whole culture! Beautiful! I really appreciate Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Mesopotamian Mythology, as well as a huge amount of other ones, centering around Europe and the Ancient world. I am also incredibly fascinated in Demonology. I am fascinated in the spiritual world, and the mythology and stories it has bestowed upon us, but I have sworn to NEVER indulge in any necromancy or magical practices which engage in Demonic spirits. I know it's real, and I will not practice it, but it's NEVER bad to know what's going on, and what's going on is fascinating. Interests also include my interests in guitar, which I am very fond of, as I have a vast knowledge, of not only guitarists but guitars myself. I have an Epiphone Les Paul Special II and I use a fender amp. (Gibson variants and fender, I know ) I am a beginner guitarist though, about 5 months playing, but I do know a fair bit, and I would say the most complex piece that I can play is the Crazy Train intro. It's hard for me because of the use of your pinky finger and the fast speed, but I can still clearly do it . I also have a strong passion for video games, as you can probably tell, with how i'm playing with minecraft, . I also love Classic cars, basically Classic sport and muscle from the 50s and 60s, purely beautiful vehicles, I love them. I also love YouTube a lot, you'll find me on there watching OmarGoshTV, letsplayers and other vloggers like FaZe Clan, etc. Religious views Yes, I am Christian, although I would consider myself a very non religious Christian. Let me elaborate. Religion itself was created by men who all had the same faith, and said, Hey, lets start a group so we can spread our message! It worked, a little too well, and is what caused a lot of horrible things and a huge shift in Christianity in the Catholic church. Basically, I follow my faith, not my religion. I follow what the bible says and what my heart says. Religion has unfortunately twisted itself so much, and can be shown in it's twisted ways many times in history. Catholicism killed many witches, and even women who were not even witches, but since they were incredibly beautiful, they did anyway! Jesus says love one another, even gays, religion says gays are hated by Jesus. I don't want to go to controversial, because this is for controversial conversation only, but my point is that religion has become incredibly restrictive and has twisted God's word, so I try to stray away from it, and keep my faith to myself, and to others if they need it. Also, I would like to note I am not bashing anyone reading this at all, but I would like to point out a lot of religious aspects have gone out of hand. Political I would call myself Conservative, Pro-Life and Pro Gun, now, if you would like to discuss this please PM me, I would love to find the light on both sides. I don't really get into politics very much on friendly community servers, because I feel like I would be back stabbed for my views, like I have been in the past, and I don't want any future relationships to be broken, as my political views, especially on the US is Repub leaning. Sorry, but that's the way it is, if you do not appreciate me for my views, well then we can just get on with out days . Career Interests For me figuring out a future career is very difficult at this moment, and at this point, i've figured that I should just move with the wave, because quite frankly, I find the question "What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?" incredibly stupid. You'll never fully have your life figured out, because once it comes to that time where you expected to do this or that, your life will drastically change, so stop worrying about what you'll be doing in 20 years from now, worry about now. Actually don't worry, FOCUS But if you would ask me, I would be interested in non college required jobs, such as working in the autobody industry as a mechanic (Yes, I know you need school, but you dont REALLY need it at all) or maybe a customizer. Maybe i'll work at a budget brake and auto shop, maybe i'll work restoring classic cars and trucks, who knows. But wanna know what my DREAM is? To be apart of a Rock band. Wouldn't that be awesome? To travel the world, money, fame, but most importantly, music. It would be a dream come true, but I don't know if it's possible, although, you never know how life will change you. Random Facts Surprisingly, I actually paid no attention to music before a year ago, mainly because I saw music as just "pop" I thought it never sounded good at all and I thought it was too typical to say "Yeah, I like to chill out by listening to music." Once I found Rock though, my life changed for the better, and I must say, Rock is the best! As for school, I don't appreciate it much at all. I do terrible in mathematics and languages, and right now i'm slipping at an incredible rate, with only History being my favourite subject. But what have I learned? To stop caring so much. If I spend my life worrying and stressing on school and graduating, I will never succeed in life and become another slave to society, stuck in college paying fees left and right, and surviving on cheap rent, ramen noodles and water. I don't want that, I HATE the idea of college, to shave your life away in school AGAIN for 4 years just to get a diploma in something which doesn't even amount to your real person. Besides, a lot of people have these special "Engineering" degrees or whatever but never find a job, and there goes 4 years of your life! So I avoid college, but yes, school is very important, but a lot of the time my focus goes from the in important things and to the important things in life. My favourite food is Poutine Current EMC Projects Currently, i'm working on a Norse Village out in the Frontier, and it has been going quite well! I have gained a lot of friends during my time on the server and I have enjoyed it. I am also working on my Narse Mythology, which you can check out on Writers Corner Final Words It's very difficult to be patient and give you all of the information I can think of, and now i'm exhausted! This is just a little bit of information for you to look over and get a little info about me. So far, it's only been 30 days and I have been loving EMC! The community is so friendly and everyone is awesome! I'm sorry for the rant that i've made, and I feel like I've left out a huge portion of information, but I would really appreciate if we could get to know eachother Please shoot me a friend request and a PM, I would love to interact with you. Thank you for reading! -Otus, Rock fanatic, Metalhead, Spaceman, and proud member of EMC.
You've got some good European roots. That's true, I suppose, in most cases. But curiosity can be unhealthy as well... Oh, you like video games? Only pc or also consoles, or perhaps even home computer games? I agree with everything you say here, except for certain things you attribute to religion. "religion says gays are hated by Jesus" is the most jarring statement. At my school, we're quite religious. And all opinions are welcome to be voiced. But when we talked about homosexuality, or transsexualism (we've actually got both a transsexual person and a homosexual couple at our school), it turned out that only a very small percentage of people believed in the views you refer to. Sometimes indeed we see these things (especially on the internet, where they are most easily voiced by individuals), and I am saddened by those, but while in the past because of that I'd distance myself from religion, now I try to be a counterexample! I really recognise this. Your opinion on college is quite interesting. I'll be going to University next year, and I'm looking forward to it. I'm not looking forward to the timetable (tests from 5 to 8 PM, lectures from 7 to 10 PM, I mean what D:), but I am greatly looking forward to the subject matter (I'm going to be studying Artificial Intelligence, which includes Computer Science, Linguistics, Psychology and Philosophy) and to making new friends! I don't think I'd ever seen that. Looks good, though. It's fast-food, I assume? Very interesting, thanks for the post! This is the third time I'm considering following you, now, and that's my self-set rule, so I'll follow you now. (and for unfollowing I have the same rule: I only unfollow after considering to do so three times... so it won't happen that easily! Unless perhaps you go inactive within a few weeks, or start doing things I really can't appreciate; both of which I doubt are going to happen.)
Hey there Otus! Great intro post, I learned quite a bit about you I have actually seen you around in-game quite a bit already, so it's nice to see you pop up here on the forums, as well. I look forward to seeing what all you do in your time here Good luck and have fun! So you're going to actually be making new friends in college?
Thank you to everyone for your nice comments and your appreciation This is the community I belong to, I have been in way too many toxic communities before that shifted my personality for the worst at times. Thank you all
I like computer games, but I like to play on Emulator.Online. Ever tried it? It's free and allows you to play games from the 80s-90s from various systems When I was mentioning religion sometimes hating people, I was talking moreso on specific *cough* westboro *cough* groups. I guess I should of rephrased that a little bit, sorry bout that. Yes, poutines are the BEST! It's fries in a bowl, with cheeds curds ontop melted with gravy. Yum
Nope. That's illegal, and I only download ROMs when I own them personally. I have seen there are nowadays online services where you don't even need to download the ROM, but I think that's a bit strange, and I honestly doubt if it's more legal, as you're still doing the same thing: using the ROM without owning it. You're just not saving it to your disk. That said, I don't comdemn those that do occupy themselves with these practices... I just don't do it myself. (unless, as I said, I've bought the game first)
I didn't see a snip bit for the "Minecraft modded inclined" But that is okay, I am hoping my modpack works for you. Welcome aboard! Hopefully, you'll stick around
A late welcome to the Empire Minecraft It's quite intersting to see that your vieuws on politics, school, religion, and music(-ish) are totally oposite of mine... As someone who does national maths competitions (gotten in the top 100 once :D) There is somethhing I want to add about what you say about school: As you have a hard time doing it, I totaly understand you dislike it, but don't say it's a bad thing for everyone. I do argree with you that success shouldn't be the goal of ones' life, but, if you're like me, and just enjoy Phisics (mainly quantummechanics) a lot, doing University, including the social part around it, can just be a lot of fun, wich, in the long run, makes you able to have a job that (for a large part) is doing something you like to do and also (possibly) something that can help make a better tomorrow. (That is a long sentence) Less subtily said: I wouldn't say it's nice to make such bold statements on what everyone "has to" do. (I might also just have misunderstood, I'm only learing English for three and a half year...)
If I said anything wrong in this I would like to point out that I wrote this late at night with a lot of school stress on my back, so that would of left a negative impact on my choice of words. I never believe I mentioned telling anyone what to do, but if I did, please refer to my last sentence As for university, one of the reasons I don't want to participate is because it never promises job opportunities. Sure, you may have a degree in engineering, but in all honesty, where are you going to find a job, considering a ton of students are already studying the same thing? Same thing for gender studies and other studies similar, I don't find them necessary in our life, even necessary to study at all, because honestly, have you seen a well paying job that requires a degree in Gender Studies? A lot of my interests to do not involve college. My interests are sort of leaning in the autobody industry, which in most cases, does NOT need any college experience, although I do believe you need some form of classes for few jobs and tasks, but not as brain pushing as college. College really is not needed at all, I know plenty of people who have made it successful in non college jobs, not only musicians, and other successful inventors, but some guy my dad knows who has a mental disability, yet works on airplane engines and reaches about a hundred or more grand per year, no college or studies involved. What I am saying is you don't need college to be successful and do what you're interested in at all, especially for me, my interests do not direct to college at all, I don't feel like shaving my life away studying in school AGAIN. Not to mention the terrible social issues in college campuses which belong in the Controversial thread.
