Rick and Morty

  1. You have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existentialcatchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
  2. Wubba Lubba Dub Dub

  4. Rick and Morty is most definitely one of the most messed up animated series I've seen, and I love it for that :D

Into the microverse, miniverse and teenyverse. "Ship, keep Summer safe!", and maybe better not get into what happened next.

Still, I also enjoyed the second episode of this season... "Remote override engaged.. NO! yes. Bypassing override! I AM ALIIIiiiiiblblblblbbe... Hello.". Now try to picture yourself in Beth's position :p

Makes you wonder why that family hasn't already been traumatized for life ;) Hmm, maybe they have.

  5. I've only watched 2 episodes the one with pickle rick and the one were Rick takes Morty's father to an amusement park were no one can truly die. ( That would make an epic game of hide and seek so fun) From what I saw I stayed amused and attentive. However I'm not opposed to watching when I come across it but I'm not clambering to the tv guide to find it either.
  6. Loved the show for how absurd it was and how well executed it was. Hell who knows, this might be Adult Swim's next Aqua Teen Hunger Force in the sense of a running show.
  7. In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony television show. But because, I am enlightened by Rick and Morty.
  8. Yep thank god. Its a comment on Reddit that people found and started to make fun of because the dude thought he was intellectually superior to everyone else because he watched a cartoon.

(will give actual thoughts on TV show l8r)

  16. You're why people hate the fanbase. Always dragging the pickle rick thing...

  17. -1, That episode only came out a few weeks ago so how can it possibly be dragging already?
I turned myself into a pickle morty, I'M PICKLE RIIIICK

  18. I think you're failing to understand how long a few weeks is and how the lifespan of a meme works. It's funny if it's not overused and not used in cringy ways such as saying "PICKLE RIIIIIICK" whenever rick and morty is mentioned. Excuse my harsh tone if it's viewed as offensive btw

  19. So Harambe lasts a year but something funny from Rick and morty can last a few weeks? I think you're failing to understand that memes don't have a 'use by' date. If something is funny, there will always be people who find it funny even if you don't.

  20. Harambe became annoying and everyone knew that.

I intended to have some sarcasm, but then again, you can't tell online. I'm not gonna turn this thread into an argument nor do I want to spend my time arguing over whether or not a fan base is cringy when almost everyone knows it is
