It seems that any thread containing the most minuscule mistake will, within the span of a few hours, turn into a full-fledged war spanning multiple pages and involving tens of people. For example, let's say a kid who may not be very.....educated....says I would assume that the ideal response to this would be and then the kid responds with And everyone goes on with their day. However, it seems like this rarely, if ever, happens. It seems to me like the ideal response on here would be edit- and then panic ensues as the Empire Minecraft forum turns into pandemonium, flame left and right I've said this in the depths of another thread somewhere far far away, so I felt that I would make a dedicated thread about it to see what a wider variety of people think about this. Please leave thoughts below about this in the comments if you agree, or hate on this topic. Either way is fine with me
Im mean if you could say stuff like that it shouldnt be posted like.. when you press post Sorry This Post Is Not PG something like that
Darn it I want chicken again. But seriously guys, one of the chat rules is to not cause drama and to triple check that what you say won't offend people. That carries over to the forums.
One of the downfalls of being part of the human race is that people can be offended by almost anything.
It's just one of those things that happens. I don't think they can be prevented, but it's still possible to stop the argument in its tracks.
It's in these false stories that such threads are lost. Before responding, replace any negative stories in your mind with ones that show the person in a positive light. The results will show in your word choice and tone! This is hard because it's a win/loss scenario. It takes a certain impudence for one person to correct another publicly, right? I think the way to end on a positive note is to allow the person to save face. Give them a way to acknowledge the error that doesn't make them look bad. Sometimes that's really hard. Especially when fried foods are involved.
Because it's the internet, probably. I'd say though, we're actually doing kind of good. Sure, it could be better, but if you'd compare our normal attitude to that of Twitter, or YouTube... at least we don't start swearing when somebody doesn't agree with us.
I like what everyone said/is saying about the topic, I guess this is how it is, being the Internet and all
