  1. ...so... question?

Does this mean the movie 'Braveheart' is a lie? ...could have swore they already became independent from England?
  2. Yeah, it could, but it would fail pretty quickly.
Meh. I've never really researched the topic much (my school only does things from 1800s+ >.>) so I don't know the circumstances of how the UK was born. I only know that Wales was invaded and had to surrender in the 1200s after England got bored of fighting with France :p
  3. They are independent from England. They aren't independent from the UK; which England essentially controls.

  5. You say they wanted, who's they? The North was divided up for the Scots and the English, if you want to find out more, crease arch the Ulster Plantation. My point is that "they" are primarily of British ancestry so of course there would be a strong population of loyalists living there.
  6. Look at the Falkland Islands. They're closer to Argentina than the UK (obvs) yet they're still loyal. Jersey and Guernseyare practically part of France yet they're loyal. Many places are loyal to the UK.

  7. Your point?
    They were still Irish.
  8. My point is that no, they weren't, the Brits took our land in the north and Scots and English privately settled there.
  9. You said they were of British descent but in Ireland; so therefore, they were Irish.
  10. You already have a better aerospace industry than England :p

Personally, I don't really care if Scotland become independent, as long as I can easily travel between it and England. :p

Also, that Monarchy you believe is useless. It adds an extra layer above politics and saves us from having a useless political system like America appears to have. It's always nice to have something above politics and a figurehead who isn't a political figure.

  11. I'm no expert in UK Politics but I know one thing that the land that Monarchy owned give there profits to parliament from a deal they worked out in the past. From the Video I posted they actually do something for UK which is lower taxes than you would have.

  12. The no vote got 55% of the vote. Scotland isn't going to be independent, and they are now banned from voting in English laws.

In other news; the Conservatives are threatening to revolt against David Cameron...

  14. Don't ask me; I never knew they had a say in the first place :p
  15. Now David Cameron is vowing political change in England.

I am so very confused right now.
  16. I think he means that that statement made no sense.
  17. But it did... 0-e
'Scotland is banned from voting about English things'.
    ...
  18. What does that mean? What are 'English Things'? Does it mean that MP's in UK Parliament from Scotland can't vote on bills anymore? Does it mean Scotland can't take part in UK referendums?

  19. ^Still doesn't make sense to me. You don't vote on/in English laws unless you're voting for MP's or in referendums etc.
