I don't see the problem. The news has been attacking this issue aggressively. Anyone who doesn't already know about will soon. If they are involved, they can stay away from this thread if it too much for them. As for the development of this, Obama has come out and given a speech on the issue. One of the things he said was that an investigation would be held.
I am so sorry for your loss, Palm... I can't even imagine what you are going through. Everyone handles loss differently, but if you would like to talk, you know I am always on G+
My prediction is that everyone is just going to bash on Ukraine even more as if they aren't enough already and Russia is going to make things very, very interesting.
It is important that all citizens and community are warned of this horrible tragedy. Maybe now people will actually look into the war in Ukraine and how bad it has been. Maybe it may be a little inappropriate, but I think it is 100% appropriate, especially on this server.
Nobody is bashing on Ukraine, the bashing is directed at the former superpower which has been behind some of the worst breaches of international law in history. Russia sent troops out of its borders and took part of another sovereign state when that state was at its weakest. It was an unprovoked action, done out of nationalistic expansionism and greed, and without regard for the wishes of the Crimean people. In addition to that, they are sponsoring the pro-Russian militant insurgency, and have been severely screwing with the Ukrainian gas prices. The Russian Federation is single-handedly undermining the prospect of democracy and a good quality of life for 44 million people, and it is not okay.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened. They have already invaded parts of Ukraine. But a full blown invasion of the entire country would be the most stupid thing they could do. Even someone like Vladimir Putin wouldn't be stupid enough to do that.
Why not? Ukraine is, at the moment, pretty weak and is pretty much there for the taking. But, of course, there is the major possibility of the US, the UK, the Commonwealth states, and other countries who want Russia off the face of the planet fighting back; but they'll cross that bridge when they come to it, k?
If you ever need to talk; just make a private message with me. You're a cool person and if I can help you in like, any way at all with this, i'd be happy too
I did think heavily about that before I posted, but with all the drama just about everyone in primary school in the US is probably going to hear this in a few days MAXIMUM. I have no idea what the hell these terrorists were thinking, but at this point they could have just suicide bombed the plane, the US gov already wants to try people who they find to have helped with this, and that will of course mean death penalty... I am sorry for your loss palm sugar, my great uncle died in a plane the first day he had his pilots lisence in a private bi-plane... Whenever something like this happens, things can get very dramatic very quickly, and especially when it happens twice a year with the flight that went missing just a few months ago.
Honestly all of this stuff between the US, Russia & Ukraine really upsets me since I can't pick a side to defend since I am American, Russian & Ukrainian :/
I'd go for the U.S and Ukraine. They're both on the same side...err, mostly. They're not terrorists, just Russian. Or separatist. Or whichever one finally grows the balls to admit to doing it.
*cuddles* I'm sorry Palm. If you ever need anything or anyone to talk to, I'll be here for you! I promise ♥
Ukraine is not "pretty weak" and its certainly not just there to be taken. Countries don't want Russia "off the face of the planet". There is no major possibility of the US, UK or Commonwealth states wanting to declare war against Russia. A
Ah, yes; that's why just a month ago the U.S was preparing itself for an attack after Russia threatened to nuke them
