  1. This thread is starting to get silly now. I feel that it's making a mockery of all the people who have taken time and built up the courage to voice their concerns in public.

    Can we perhaps have a trimming by a Moderator of the blatantly off-topic posts that add nothing to this thread?

  3. agreed, Just cause some one may fit the needs of mod doesnt mean they would make a good mod. Could be many reason stopping that promotion.

  4. I don't think the staff owes us a rubric. And I would really let it be. It should really be based on someone's work ethic and what they bring to the table, not trying to fit a format for "mod material".

  5. I agree, I feel like there were lots of IMPORTANT things brought up here, and honestly, hope we can continue to be open with this. It would seem that one person with a beef and less of a... reasoning, wishes to dish out a personal squabble with ICC. Which is fine, but that was NOT what this thread was made fore. It was made for the amazing posts we got about things that we are ready to try and fix, rather than the posts about so and so not getting mod.

  6. I never managed a store, and so I believe you had me confused with somebody else. I was a SSG in the US Army, served as a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Leonardwood in MO, I then came back to PA and was a trainer at a call center, and now I drive a Transit Bus in a city and am an Officer of a Local Union...

    There is no working system. When I asked you the reason I was denied (what, 2 years ago?) You said I was not a good fit, and that it was your opinion and that your opinions were usually right... after that, I never applied again, trusting your judgement. My issue isn't for myself being a moderator, -MODERATED due to rudeness-

  8. Although staff selection shouldn't be by bias opinion only. Wouldn't you WANT to get along well with the people you would be working alongside?

  9. Well none of this post is accurate. I'll ask you kindly to not post negative things that are false from here on out. The point of this was to be open with concerns. You've turned this into a slander attack on me and other staff members. We've been pretty lenient with it up until now. Keep it down from here on out.

  10. Enigmaparadox, I thought you were being a little hostile but were voicing your opinions as requested nonetheless. However, you lost me here.
    IcC was not making excuses. You asked a question, he answered it to the best of his ability with reasoning that seemed logical to me, and even examples of why nepotism was not occurring. If you're not willing to listen or care about the "excuses"/answers, then there's no point in this discussion.

    This is a direct insult and attack to krysyy, who is a fantastic staff member. That's just plain inappropriate.

  11. I once said something to someone along these lines a while back. I feel like it fits here.

    Maybe you should stop looking it as 'People who are friends with ICC get promoted' and more along the lines 'ICC happens to get along with people with who make good staff'

    Well Don't I feel special.

    Your putting words in my mouth that aren't true.
    I've faced a lot of problems in life, that I've had to overcome.
    But still to this day I can never understand why people think they know what I want to say.
    No. I did not want make it seem Joe got the position because of OBAM.
    I've already figured that out a couple days ago. If I wanted to say something about it, I would have, and I could be true or false. I would never know, I can't read minds over the internet, nor can I access those files.

    Do I have an opinion about Joe being a mod? Not yet as I'm actually giving him a chance.

    And as far as opinions for you go, I don't know Joe as a Person, nor do I know IcC or yourself.
    Same goes the other way, expect you have access to every little thing I've done on EMC.
    So no. I won't change my "opinion" As it seems it's more yours than mine.

  20. The system works. We look at people that applied and people that we see in action all the time. We investigate how they handle situations, how active they are, and their affiliations. The admins and senior staff weigh in one each person suggested for moderator status based on their interactions with those people and further research. Then the admins make the ultimate decision. To be honest, I personally suggested Joe a LONG time ago. He is very good moderator material and distances himself from drama whenever possible. I don't know much about him in real life. I only go off of what I see in-game and on the forums.

    A BIG part of it is staying non-biased in any and all situations. I think our choices will do an amazing job and personally supported each and every one of them becoming a part of the team. In addition, we see right through people that help only for wanting to become moderator. We avoid people that help for selfish reasons because they won't be a good fit for our team.
