The 'How to make an Infinite Villager' Thread

Discussion in 'Community Discussion' started by kilmannan, Jan 18, 2014.

  1. I've been seeing a lot of people charging a lot of Rupees for information or services on how to make an Infinite Villager.

I'm going to give that information away for free for those that can't be bothered to YouTube it.

    Steps:

1 - Spawn a librarian villager in a controlled spot on your Residence (So he can't run away)

2 - See what the first trade is. If it's:
    • Bookcase
    • Paper
    • Books
    Then eggify and try again.

3 - Once you have a suitable first trade, trade with the Villager until the second trade opens up.
If you find you have Bookcase, paper or books as the item you have to supply within the first three trades, eggify and start again. This increases your chances later on down the line.

4 - Continue to trade with the Villager until the next trade opens up. Important points to note:

    • Don't use a previous trade. Once you've opened up the next trade, never use an old trade
    • Don't rush it. Let the swirls and green stars come and go before you trade again
5 - If by the 7th trade, you have not hit paper as the item you need to supply, you are going to get it on the 8th trade, so whatever the 7th trade is, do it, even if it's 64 emeralds for an enchant book.

6 - The 8th trade will be infinite.

    Points to Note:

It does take a lot of resources, as you're not guaranteed the paper trade and may have to do it a few times. I have created three Villagers that I use and it took around fifteen minutes for each one with a few false starts.

Ultimately, it works out cheaper than paying over 15,000r for it if you do it yourself.
With two Villagers I can generate a stack of Emeralds every two minutes. You don't need more than two Villagers if you're working alone as you generally have only a second or two to wait between each one until the swirls are gone.

To help me spend my Emeralds (because they're useless just now) I have a Priest stood next to my Librarians who sells me infinite Redstone. Same method applies. You can do it for Glowstone, etc, or whatever you want if you're willing to keep trying.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the method I use and it worked fine.

Thanks to Supereskimo for this reminder:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Always wait a few seconds after trading with your infinite villager before leaving the residence or running away. If you unload the chunk the villager is in before he gets green particles, the last trade you did will be locked. This is the only way I know besides killing/eggifying the villager that will "break" the villager.
On that note: Do not kill or eggify your infinite villager, or he will lose all his trades.
  2. Cool! Might use this myself just for picks and tools >_<

  3. Thanks kilmannan now I know why I dont have a paper villager after going to the 8th trade soooo many times (I have one but I paid for that one), it was always because the first trade is always one of the ones you said shouldnt xD

  4. Sweet I think you just put crabcakes out of buissness :p
  5. *Noob Question Alert*
How do I know which one would be the librarian?
    Is it a certain colour?

  6. Naw, lol really... the most important thing you've missed out on and if some one tries to do it this way... they can be wasting a lot of rupees
  7. The librarian is all white :)
  8. The chap with the white robe

Well, I can't think what it would be, but it's worked for me without fail.

  9. How many trades does the priest have? My new infinite paper villager needs some company :)
  10. I love the thread. I think of people "selling" infinite villagers for such a high price, is basically taking advantage of them. They're simple to make, just if you do it right. Not trying to bash on people who do it, just giving my opinion. :)

  13. He has 13, but a TOPTIPĀ© is that with the Priest, he will accept the same Enchanted Item over and over again, so you only need to craft one.

  14. So it has 13, but I only need to do each enchitem trade once?
  15. how many trades does a butcher have? maximum
  16. I like this. Will be useful for all those who are panicking about infinite villagers being gone in 1.8. :D
  17. You'll only ever get 8 trades. With the enchanted items I've found I only had to do them once or twice and it'd open up the next trade, but if it wanted an Enchanted Shovel for example, I could use the same shovel over and over again.
  18. All you have to do is post a thread and you ruin the economy worse than aikar...

  20. Thank you for doing this! I didn't want to pay 12k for a book on how to do it or 40k for one.
