  1. Nope it works perfectly fine nothing wrong with battery life or processing power.
  2. This is false data as many android apps themselves have over 100 million downloads,

there is probably 50 billion downloads on the play store within the top 20 apps.

  3. You got a good phone... :p

Are you talking an actual phone running Android, or the software? Most people who buy phones running Android, keep their phone for a while, where as Apple has a massive frantic fan base that just have to have the latest iPhone.

  4. I see that this time I don't have the space to be my usual self and jokingly suggest a far better Android phone (although if you would consider one that would just be A+). So if that is not an option, than for the LOVE OF EVERYTHING BAGELS STICK TO THE 4S.

  5. If you have several pre-iphone 5 charge cords at your house, and no post-iphone5 cords I completely agree. Even if you do, iPhone4s seems sturdier, just don't go with sprint service...

I don't know where you got your data from, but it seems to be very, very wrong. :p Also, it sould be noted that since Android provides freedom, there are several third party app stores. Apps can also be downloaded from the internet. But, from what I have seen, the amount of apps download just on Androids stock app service is roughly the same as Apple's store.

Also, to those who wonder why people (well, me personally) scream Android/PC when someone brings up any Apple topic.
    1. If you saw someone you interact with occasionally (us forum goers) in MC using a cobble generator, would you really not speak up and explain to them that a smoothstone generator is better? Would you not explain that even though they are a bit harder to construct/optimize, they provide a more efficient harvest when they are "brought up to speed" so to speak? Now I will grant you this, Macs are superior when it comes to graphics design and similar other activities/occupations. But when it comes to phones, there isn't really all that great of a reason to get an iPhone.
    2. A good debate is always fun, and if it seems that the thread owner has gotten/will get what he needs, it doesn't really get in the way. In fact, it will bring more attention to the thread, and that person will get more help. In this case, he was going to get his answers either way (he should have already known that 5s would win, TBH. Thats just how Apple users work), and the off topic posts aren't hurting anything. He will get his votes for the new phone, and if his mother decides she wants a different phone due to him taking a look at an Android phone, is that really a bad outcome?
    3. Its competition. Can you image if people didn't debate about products? There would be zero motivation for companies to create better products, there customers wouldn't ever leave. While some might think that advertisements are enough, there not. It would just be a battle of who can lie the best, most often. Not all advertisers "lie", but maybe largely mislead is a better word.
    4. Honestly, its funny when you see someone clearly spouting so called facts that have no basis. This goes for both sides, neither is perfect.
And I should include that by debate, I mean good, healthy debate. For example, don't debate like coffee_bullet did. Thats just rude and provides nothing of use. Ever. Poking at people is fine, but don't overdo it. A debate should be about a product./outcome, not a person.
Yes, I know this isn't a debate thread, but lets be honest please. Just like fundamental laws of science/math hold true, when someone posts something on the internet about anything Apple/Android/PC, especially in an active forum group, they should expect something like this to happen. While it may seem that its only PC/Android users that start debates, they get Apple people in their threads too. I suspect that if we could crunch the numbers, and see percentages of PC users vs Apple users, it would be roughly the same amount of "incidence" per user.

  7. *LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE* (For once, something mba says that I agree with that has to do with apple :p)
I've had my Android HTC Desire S for over two years now...and I still don't really want to change it (maybe in a few months) I really, really do not understand why people need to buy the latest iPhone, if you've got anything above the 3GS, you're all good in my mind. What I really hate to see is when people buy the latest iPhone when it comes out every time and there old one becomes like a 'hand me down' or worse, they don't even do anything with it! You're wasting so much money on what in my mind is...ridiculously overpriced apple products. You can get a just a good phone for even as much as £200 cheaper that does the same thing and sometimes even better but because it's apple you must buy it instead! (Sorry, I really shouldn't of ranted on your thread, but it had to be said)

I wouldn't get the 5c, at first I thought...Hmm a cheap iPhone apple say? Not bad...then I look into the details to find it's only £80 cheaper than the 5......I don't think apple know the definition of the word cheap! I would stick with the 4S personally. :)

  8. Aww... :(
  9. Apple better add holographic keyboards in the six because they are getting nowhere by slightly tweaking the iPhone each time :)
  10. ..Get a nokia... you're mom will never have to get a new phone again.
  11. Nokia's are no longer indestructible, they were just bought by Microsoft...

  12. hahaha apple, what a joke they are. Prancing around saying fingerprint technology is a new and exciting venture, certainly shows that they have done their market research (not). Heck, Dell laptops from 2007 have fingerprint readers. They believe they are revolutionising the mobile sector with this finger print reader in it, well, they certainly are not the first to come up with this. The 2011 Motorola Atrix Android smartphone had one.

It's little wonder apples shares are dropping like crazy atm, they are copying ideas that have already been thought about.
  13. I thought they took that off when you bought it... must have just been my school...
  14. Ah, right, because you, the all-knowing internet user, know more about market research than the multi-billion dollar corporation. :p Also, pretty likely that just as computer processors get better over the years, so too would fingerprint scanners. Its probably an addition that Apple feels confident enough in the technology to implement instead of rushing and adding it before they know its actually going to work reliably. They never said they were the first people to make fingerprint scanners :p Not to say that I'm blown away by how awesome this is or anything, I was under impressed by everything Apple released, but lets at least be somewhat reasonable here.

  15. No where did I say that? Let me elaborate on what I said. I simply stated that from an outside perspective, looking at the way they are coining this whole fingerprint thing, it certainly comes across as if they are the pioneers of the technology. When in fact they aren't. All apple seems to do is steal ideas and can't come up with their own. Oh and the colours you see on the 5c models seems very similar to the Nokia Lumia 620:

    Very original apple.
  16. What really annoys me about apple, and their releases of new phones each year is that the next phone is not very different or advanced than the last. They only upgrade a "few" things and build up such a hype for it through clever marketing which enables them to end up selling heaps because people have been fooled. This is effectively sucking the market for money, and is stealing in some respect. That is why I will never purchase an apple product, their marketing strategies are poor.

Now, lets look at Samsung for example, a company that has a foundation built upon innovation and constantly pushing the boundaries with every product. This is a company I will spend my money with because they don't just reside with doing the bare minimum with each new release of a product.

  17. I see where you're coming from, but you have to understand that they're in a transition period(It's been going on for too long though) between having Steve Jobs and not having Steve Jobs. When Jobs was in charge, they actually did innovate with each release of their products. I think they're just trying to find a new direction, although I honestly don't think it's the best.

It takes a fair bit of effort and extra money spent to try to invent a whole new piece of technology. Borrowing technology is something every company does, EMC has borrowed the miecraft server technology to create a minecraft server, XenForo borrowed the use of OOP to create an efficient and amazing piece of forum software. Also, it's a typical marketing technique used by all companies, big and small, to try and hype up products, they have to miss out a few points, to get people buying things. I haven't looked into it, but if I did, I'm sure your beloved Samsung does that too, just not the extent Apple does so.

And about those colours, they are standard, easily recognisable colours, anything else would just be a bit strange, expensive or whatever else.

  18. Why would your (or any) mother need a new iPhone for ? Aint her current one fair enough (4/4s/higher)? What does she use it for? Calling and some calender stuff? Oh perhaps also her alarm?
  19. Its a bit hypocritical of apple to be doing all these things, (fingerprint scanner, same colour phones at the nokia etc) when they are the ones that created a massive lawsuit against Samsung for something so meager as the "roundness" of the device. Apple is pathetic and at the end of the day it is showing in the drop of prices for shares.
