  1. I personally don't approve, but if the majority say it's ok to extend out of SMP 9 and into another server than so be it. I just feel there is so much that needs to be done in SMP 9, it would not be that smart to expand to another server. JMO
  2. i agree with kriticul, imagine if we put the effort we would use on smp6, to further develop smp9 ..... just saying

  3. We can divide the labour, have some people work on issues on SMP9 and have a few others colonise SMP6 :)

  4. Pfft why not just make a private server consisting of everyone in the NR on the white list?
  5. No
  6. I agree with kritacul and holly, before we even start to THINK about expanding to other servers, we need to finish up what we started first. L0tad is working on reconstruction of Inzonio, which will take a long time and lots of labor; there are still numerous things that still need to be done in Wrem, and really expanding to other servers at this point of time would do no good.

  7. Not expanding making an entirely New Republic server, white listed to NR members only.

  8. but that takes the whole point out of it......
  9. What can I do to help? Please excuse me, I've been in my lil hole in the ground for a long time, should probably come up and see sunlight once in a while... ;) If some one or the militia needs help with something please let me know what i can do to help out.

  10. after much self debating, ive decided that expansion to other servers is a good idea, however there are some stipulations with it. in order for "cross-server" expansion to actually be effective, there needs to be some basic guidelines that need to be followed.

    1. Wrem will remain as the "Official Capitol of the New Republic"

    2. "Cross-server" expansion needs to be approved by the executive committee, so that we can discuss the potential impact it will have on the nation. We cant just let anyone build a town on another server and call it the new republic. Id like to think we have somewhat of a reputation here on emc, and id hate to have people leading an outpost on another server that make us look bad.

    3. A system needs to be created that allows us to expand the government to other servers. Each server is going to need a designated person to lead that server, whether it be one town, or 100 towns. Perhaps we can add additional deputy first ministers, or maybe even some kind of governor, who has power under the deputy first minister. I am taking suggestions on this.

    4. The "governor" of that specific server needs to go through some sort of interview, to be sure that their thoughts and ideas are for the better interest of the new republic. Id like to have someone who will make good decisions for the nr, and they need to be sort 0f interviewed by the executive committee.

I think this is something that can work, but the main thing is to discuss potential impact in the new republic, and exclusively on smp9. Any comments or suggestions?

  11. Volt, that was the most beautiful news post that has ever existed. Perhaps you should consider a real job in the media? Props to you for that news update, i think having updates like that really educate citizens on what the official scoop is here in the new republic, thus avoiding alot of "he said she said" kind of stuff. Keep up the excellent work.
  12. That is brilliant. thank you

I was born in Calcutta,India, half american half Anglo Indian.

brickstrike, ware are you when i need you?
  13. To be perfectly honest I really think you're biting off more than you can chew with this. I, for one, believe in Quality > Quantity, and in regard to the quality/quantity of cities or towns in the NR, expanding to other servers will only promote higher quantity, while there is a very high chance quality of the towns will decrease. Wouldn't it be better to have 3 or 4 really amazing cities than 8 or 9 average cities with only a few ones actually worth visiting. Until the NR has a high rate of ACTIVE members, expanding to SMPs wouldn't be a good idea. On top of the quality of cities decreasing with cross-server expansion, the flow of supplies and labor we currently have being put into Wrem, Inzonio and StoneGuard would be drastically altered. Also, look at who would even be able to actually CREATE a NR city on another server. There may be a few people who are for cros server expansion, but only a small handful, if any, can put in the required time, skill, knowledge and funds into creating a worthwhile city.
In my opinion, remaining in SMP9 for the time being would be without a doubt the best option. Util we are able to assemble a dedicated group of trusted individuals with the capabilities to carry out the creation of a city, there would be no point in starting one at this time

  16. just throwing it out their, we can always stat small with an autonomous town on another server. <25 people

  17. You made some good points here koen, I think you are right about alot of what you said. Maybe we can wait and see what everyone elses input is on this topic and see where this goes. I too believe in quality > quantity, and i can see how you would think this decrease this on smp9. Anyone else care to put their input in on this?

  18. This decision is left up to the secretary of state. He is still working on his proposed agenda, so stay tuned for this.
  19. I agree and it seems we have some future politicians in Volt and Koen.
  20. Whole point out of what? I mean would it not be easier to 'expand' when we don't have to worry about Pazzo or any other Wild Cities' borders?

Making an NR server would benefit greatly we wouldn't have to follow any EMC rules and we'd have our own moderators, the rules in the NR would be followed more often due to the fact higher powers will be able to ban rule breakers from the NR and the server.

And I'd think we'd have a lot more fun due to it, we don't have to worry about Mob Bosses attacking citizens in the NR or worry about rich people being the best in the NR everyone would get a fresh start I think this should seriously be considered, having our own New Republic Server.
