I'm selling my soul for Bitcoins.

  1. That could be argued, I don't think the Bible says anything about the value of a soul, if anything it talks about equallity between men, but even there, it's pretty evident that there are categories that make a soul more worthy than another one. For example, if I was to buy a soul, I wouldn't want one that is condemned to Purgatory because its owner dien't believe, but one that should go directly to Heaven when the time to show my souls come. And a shattered soul would be like a lotto tocket bought by many people, not worth as much as a full one, don't you think?

And, as Volt doesn't believe, how can we say there's no measuring his soul, if we don't now what mean of measure to apply between all the possibilities available?
  2. I find it entertaining too, I am trying to see if Volt can defend his product against the possible issues that he could encounter in this ambiguous market :p

    :p
(Edit) I'm not even gonna attempt to read everyone's posts on this thread.....i normally do but no...not this time.....
  4. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
this passage suggests that each soul has an equivalent intrinsic value regardless of the mans deeds

  6. You are very close to the truth, HylianNinja, but here is my theory:
Rather than using the documents sent to the buyers as horcruxes, he will simply use the transaction records. Since bitcoin transactions are both secure and anonymous, it is virtually impossible for someone to locate and/or alter any specific one. Since his horcruxes will be completely digital in nature, they will obtain the power to manipulate digital information (i.e. create fake accounts, generate bitcoin revenue, hack systems, etc.). Normally, he would only be able to split his soul into seven pieces, but by making all of his horcruxes (unless he keeps a backup horcrux IRL) of the same type, they gain the ability to interact with each other and freely transmit power/bitcoins. But here's the scary part: Since bitcoins can be mined, and 72Volt's soul has a direct value in bitcoins, 72Volt's soul will gain the ability to grow in power! By seeking out every mining-based bitcoin transaction and combining them with his own soul, 72Volt's soul will gradually gain every bitcoin in existence.
Over time, bitcoins will become more popular than real money. Eventually, they will completely replace real money, and 72Volt will completely control the world economy (and thus the world itself). Without the limitations of a human body, 72Volt's split soul will be able to think at the speed of the world's fastest supercomputers without hunger, fatigue, or even emotion...
Actually, this sounds like a pretty entertaining plot for a book or movie. Mind if I use it? :D
