I admit this thread piqued my curiosity a bit when it started, and I'm surprised to see how well it's grown (thought for sure the Great Wall O' Text would scare a lot of people off, pleasantly surprised to see I am wrong). So I had a look via livemap...*
For all the forum activity, the city itself seems oddly barren. And I don't just mean desert biome. Some well-planned roads and a city wall, but so little actual structure within the city itself?

So I suppose that would explain some of it. I'm still puzzled by the declaration of a "full" 25 members, and such an empty cityscape. That's not meant to sound insulting mind you, I'm just curious - when does the city-building itself begin in earnest?

Yeah it is a bit under built. But mostly because L0tad is telling everyone to not build at the moment.

This city, as far as i know, is one of the first majorly planed cites in the empire. I am taking this rout based on what i have seen the the llo, random buildings, with no organisational pattern. To achieve 72Volts goals, the city needs to have a well built infrastructural design laid down before the actual buildings/residents come in.

If we are ever going to become a true empire, we need a good foundation.

Update on progress!

1. A constitutional assembly has been created, all of us are working hard on the constitution and discussing changes. If you wish to be added in, you must be in one of the NR's official convos. If you are, simply ask and I will happily add you
2. I have begun a quarry north of Inizio City, if you wish to help just come on up North of Inizio City, the quarry is on the landbridge! Please continue the pattern the quarry is going in (i.e. the square staircase pattern). Put all resources on the double chest on the hill. If you wish to help with storage, contact Dean_Catterson, the Storage Director, and if you wish to help with transportation of resources back to Town, see collect12, the Transport Director. I eventually hope I can build a town in the quarry once we reach bedrock, as per my vision of a Utopian Minecraft city
3. L0tad, the head of the Heartless Corporation and a co-founder of the project along with me, is managing the logistics. Right now, he is working on the roads. Once they are complete, we can go into overdrive to get the Constitution enacted and form the government. Please donate any coal, charcoal, Stone Bricks or wood you have to assist, and contact him (he needs workers)!

May I ask just how active the Assembly is in terms of how often it discusses changes to the constitution?

These things take time. I still need to update the constitution with my recommendations which were previously overlooked.

one thing i and i think alot of other players would like to see here is farms out only farm right now is a birch farm. also if you guys need some more builders just ask me

We will be needing builder when we begin work on the new government building. But for now feel free to build anywhere outside the current walls.

Kinda confused about the quarry. You say square staircase but it already hit one hole in the bottom!

Make the bottom square 1 block deeper, do the same for the surrounding squares until the entire staircase is one block deeper than before.

I have an outpost on smo5 that we could possibly use for new republic.

Once we get the Constitution enacted, you can have that annexed into the NR through a simple territorial claim, but for now you're welcome to run your outpost as an unofficial NR colony

This project does sound very interesting. I don't know much about politics or history, but how will you enforce the constitution?
