Then you shall be delighted to know that the 1.4.7 release is coming soon But, thankfully, it's a bugfix, so you will be able to play on 1.4.7 severs with 1.4.6, and vice versa. Best part is, you can feed those eggs into a chest minecart, then have it dump into a chest at the other end! So as long as you're good with redstone, you can have a railway system transporting your goods to storage.
Oh please no, this is the one update I'm genuinely excited about, I don't wan't anything to be disabled.
They don't block tripwires or anything else that gives off a redstone current, why would they need to block chests?
What will happen: Me: Lets put my stuf in my chest. Oh I love my wild storage! *Me disconnects* Troll: Mwhahaha, lets steal his items set up a piston trap and trapped chest *Troll disconnects* *Me connects* Me: Time to grab my stuff and get back to town *Opens trapped chest with nothing in and dies* *Me complains* That will happen with more people. So I really want just that to be blocked, its more PvP
There are valid uses for both of them. Maybe redstone chests can only be enabled in town, where they can't kill anyone but still have a few good uses.
Not the wild though personally they will make more PvP Traps than help. Although personally I have never seen a use of PvP traps because you die, just return make a way down to your stuff grief the hell out of the trap and ta dah, free stuff
Because they don't connect with regular chests, they can also be for more compact storage systems. They are also making redstone more consistent and efficient, so watch this space.
