  3. "A random act of senseless violence
    Was committed again last night
It seems the whole world has gone crazy
And something needs to be done
So starting today, I'm gonna find a way
    I'm gonna repay someone
With a random act of senseless kindness"

  4. An odd thing to say, as if waiting till the end would have made him seem considerate, or that not watching the entire movie qualifies someone as insane.

  15. Even more now. If just a handful of people in that theater had been exercising their 2nd Amendment rights, the tragedy would likely have been minimized. You can take away people's rights until they don't have any at all, but there will still be just as many hate-filled psychos. The psychos will simply get more creative in their methods for killing--it's nice to have the opportunity to fight back against the occasional nutjob, though.
  16. I can't believe I posted this on the wrong thread
  17. Please tell me, without bringing in disappointment, that the Virgin Islands have cake? D:
  18. Agreed.

I'm extremely liberal but still pro gun, for the reasons already stated in this thread... Guns can't be grabbed by any random person easily.. You have to go through background checks, then most really lethal guns are then registered to you..

Criminals don't use legally registered to themselves guns to do crimes (unless they arn't too bright...), they use illegal ones. So gun laws are moot..

Being gun free is a bad thing really. Why do you think criminals don't constantly rob gun stores to steal guns?

Because they will get shot and killed. Criminals go after weakness and easy victories. Making a "gun-free city" more of a target for crime.

As ICG said, if someone else had a gun LEGALLY there, they would of been able to stop him and would of saved lives.

Guns don't kill people, people do.
  19. Whether you care about this gun ownership issue or not, I urge you to read this relatively short article describing an Australian's perspective on US gun control: http://maddot.hubpages.com/hub/Why-do-so-many-US-citzens-have-guns

I feel this sums up my own views quite accurately and is an interesting commentary on some of the sociocultural differences between the two antipodal countries. The concluding sentence concisely articulates my general standpoint:
