I have no problem with the voter's helmet change. It was obviously not really intended to be so amazing. I have no problem with the pickaxe concept either. If you do come up with another one I would humbly suggest making it about 4x cheaper or about 4x more durable. The 4x cheaper option would certainly make it more accessible to newer players. Honestly, when you think about it, with EMC having no TNT duping (I'm good with that), and mojang adding 64 y levels of hard to mine deepslate to the game, having some way to make the mining less tedious would be a nice addition. Even with such a pick, completely clearing overworld chunks is not something everyone will be willing to take on. Have a great weekend and everyone stay safe & happy!

Thank you so much for implementing something to address this suggestion in a not broken way 2.Just spit balling here: What if a really ambitious group mine was able to achieve enough haste to instamine deepslate? I feel that having to wrangle enough people together at the same time and all keep mining enough for the benefit would balance out the power. Because I agree with blockhead, the pickaxe does not make large projects feasible. The project that spawned this thread ramped up when we discovered the voter helmet trick, and that still took us a week of 6 people working hard on it to get it done. I don't think all of us combined would have had enough tokens to even consider doing it via the new pickaxe. It was an entire perimeter (all chunks loaded by a player in the center) and it was an exhausting project even with the voter helmet trick. Even then, we weren't necessarily all together mining much of the time. If we had to all coordinate our schedule to get the haste I think that would make enough harder to balance the effect. Not sure if this is possible, but maybe this super-haste only works if you also have a haste II beacon in range? More obscure spitballing, the idea of some super beacon upgrade is rolling around in my brain. Tokens or dragon stone as an activator? 😂 Super beacon and super group mine to get deepslate haste? I know this is niche, but the reason I joined this project originally is to gather lots of silk touched deepslate. I really love it as a floor texture. So +1 on some way to do it with silk
Dolabra is still a good pick. I've gotten used to switching to a regular silk pick each time I find ore. It's expensive but it does make the task go faster. I've been ripping through the tokens buying them each time the current one breaks. If another pick is created that costs less that would be really nice but in the mean time I'll make do with Dolabra.
I like the idea of 4x the durability if it's also 4x more expensive! My suggestion: Just rerelease it with a higher level of Unbreaking to make it on average four times more durable.
4x the durability for 4x the cost wouldn't change anything the area that BlockHead_56 is mining is 802,816 blocks (7x7 chunks from y=0 to y=-64). The Dolabra mines about 4,096 blocks. That's 196 pickaxes for all that... and 4,900,000 tokens.
A slightly off topic suggestion for future consideration going along the idea of clearing deepslate from y=0 to y=-64 is to create a DDTT'ish item that won't cost a lot of tokens but will eliminate all blocks in a specified chunk. The player(s) won't get the blocks. If the token value per chunk clearing 'voucher' needs to be set high then maybe allow members of an empire to pool their tokens, I didn't check to see if that was part of the empire parameters already released.
I think the reason the DDTT works is that it's in town. In the Frontier an item like that would take away from the game experience, I think.
