I just watched this video and thought it was quite informative. I remember hearing about this over a year ago, but from a more technical Youtube channel, but I don't remember where and who it was. For those who don't want to watch: TLDR: It's an infinite cat and mouse game where we have been training the computer to defeat them for us. Now with AI, and these services scraping our data to "verify" we're human, they have more than enough data to feed to an AI bot to auto-complete the Captchas for us. Which is why they've become quite ridiculous in the past few years.
I just watched it, and this is indeed quite a good video! I didn't learn anything new, and there's one detail that they might not quite have got correctly, but to people who know less about CAPTCHAs I think this is a great introduction.
