Japanese Build opinions

Discussion in 'Share Your EMC Creations' started by Simnos, Jul 17, 2024.

  1. Hi Everyone, I'm a brand new member but done a fair bit of MC building on other servers. I want to try my hand at some Japanese design, but wanted you opinions on what you'd rather see:

    1) A huge statue of a samurai

    2) A huge Cherry tree with a japanese/elven city built into it

Thanks for any input, and if you have any other suggestions happy to hear them.

  2. How about a Japanese inspired Elvin city guarded by a samurai

  3. That might ultimately be the direction it goes

  4. The idea of a huge samurai is intriguing, but I myself like to create elven builds so have to vote for that. Although a large statue added later would be cool.

  5. I really like the cherry tree idea. If you don't end up making it on your own res you should submit it to my hiring thread :)

  6. Cool idea, I like building, so having someone that might buy my designs is always fun :) I fear in this case it will be a very long solo project in between work and children though

  7. Perhaps you could build a pagoda on a forested hill- or mountaintop with walls of cherry wood? Although EMC bans inherently religious structures like crosses in the wild, pagodas aren't inherently religious; some taller ones in certain areas have also been praised for the spectacular views they offer. Ideally, you could have 3x3 holes in each floor exactly in the center and a pillar in the center of that hole with a spiral staircase or ladder; along with each floor being detached from the others, that architecture was a tactic to allow buildings to withstand earthquakes in Japan.

This isn't mutually exclusive with the cherry tree city idea you add; it's just a suggestion to add to the Japanese feel. You could use the pagoda as your city hall and build it tall enough (at least thirteen floors) to be a true high-rise in addition to being on a hilltop for the views!
  8. The cherry tree with a city in it sounds like it would be really cool. :)
