I went to vote there and it is asking me to log in to vote, but the things they want you to log in with aren't working. Anyone else had any issues voting there?
I was able to login to discord topg* in computer and tablet (didn't check phone) via discord. That's new like less than 12 hours, since I didn't have to do that in the morning. Which authentication login did you try to use?
I was referring to the Voting site TopG.org not discord. Discord isn't giving me any issues just that voting site for some reason.
One of the options to login for TopG to authenticate is Discord. Was referring that when I authenticated(logged in) TopG via Discord, it worked. Which type of login did you try?
TopG has made me jump through many hoops to vote on their site over the years. I don't need the rupees but I voted to help EMC out. No more jumping for me.
I tried creating an account directly on topg, is not good for voting. I don't want to use any external account to be linked to it, I guess I'll stop voting on topg
Also getting the login request. I've had a topg account for a while so I logged in with that, but still I get the "You must login to vote!" message.
I went ahead and signed in by clicking on the "Google" icon (since my gmail account is my burner account anyway.) Voting now working.
I went ahead and logged in via authenticating with my google account. My suggestion if you're concerned about security; create a new gmail for the sole purpose of voting on topG, and you could also use it as a burner email if needed. Only takes a few minutes.
Does this have anything to do with the EMC website crash? asking due to the timing of the issue. Guess I am asking if someone for EMC needs to login and double check something there. I am experiencing this as well and not past it yet either.
I don't understand why TopG made these changes. This is only going to cause users to not want to use their service. Servers likely won't be as inclined to advertise there as well if their users have to create accounts just to vote. It is purely coincidental timing. They now require logins to vote for any server. I've checked. You can't vote for anything without signing in.
Glad to know that I wasn't just having a weird issue, though not glad it has become a pain for everyone.
I think that the admins could take them down until they find new websites. Both of them are now just wasted text (unless if the site's admins fix the issues on their end)
Say that again? Who's admins should what on whose site? I think it reads like you want Emc to take down the link until they fix it, but Emc doesn't fix vote site's issues... So that can't be right?? Confused there. And both of who are wasted text??
to me the message is clear. EMC could remove TopG and MinecraftServers.biz from the list until those site's admins fix their sh ahem, stuff. I don't see TopG ever reconsidering, so I kinda agree. For the other site, I'm fairly sure it's temporary.
I see the login thing on TopG as a positive. There aren’t any more “select the smiling lion” captchas. It saves time (even if it’s just seconds) if you’re using a phone to vote. TopG has gone downhill in the last couple of years, though.
