  1. The planning process for the storage facility part of the outpost is underway in Creative Single-Player. Here's a look at the progress on it (keep in mind that the final product can AND will change from previous versions). This is being tested in a customized flatworld (I'm using the Overworld preset option and not the 'basic' superflat world).

This is just the pillars and the bottom of the storage facility, with 25 sets of 2x2 glowstone lighting it up. If you look closely at either side of the staircase, you can see a row of dirt. On the rows of dirt are Berry bushes.

A view from underneath. Below those 25 sets of 2x2 glowstone mentioned above is another collection of 25 sets of glowstone. And, for additional lighting, there's a lantern hanging above the 'center' of each 5x5 plot of grass.

And what I hope will be the 'cornerstone' of the Storage Facility. A 'prototype' dropper elevator, using packed ice & water streams. To the right of it, is a hopper lock with 1 piece of Wheat Seed in it. At the end of the packed ice is a chest with a hopper feeding into it (though the hopper is hidden behind the stone blocks). I timed how long it'd take for a stack of stone to feed through this prototype. It took almost 50 seconds to get the full stack from the chest at ground level to the one in the air.

Next photos should show the beginnings of the modular auto-sorting storage system that will be used at the outpost (and possibly another version of the dropper elevator feeding into said auto-sorter). Also, I may include a few farms in this, including an Automatic Melon/Pumpkin farm (see the video below).

  2. Got it into my head of constructing a semi-automatic farming tower to grow wheat, beetroot, potatoes, carrots & nether warts and the auto melon/pumpkin farm featured in the video on my last post.

Also, after I finish constructing the Woodland Mansion, I'll begin work on the storage facility, along with designing a new workshop to incorporate a smelter array & an auto-brewing station (the station, I'll need to test out in single-player first before constructing on the server).

  3. Later on down the road, after I get the Woodland Mansion, the Storage Facility and a few farms built up, I'm considering building a medieval village, using the videos made by YouTube user BlueNerd Minecraft as a basis.

  4. Update on the storage facility.

After a little bit of work, I got a scale model version of the layout that I'll use for the storage facility.

As you can see, I got 7 large chests with hoppers feeding into it. I got it staggered like that, because it's easier for me. I may, however, increase the amount of large chests I use for each item when I get the facility up & running.

That right there is the hopper line I got that comes from the item dropper elevator. On the left is the storage unit that's featured in the previous photo. To the right is the other storage unit (set up in a stair-like formation and was the prototype for the storage unit on the left). Once I get the logistics figured out, I plan to 'upgrade' the hopper line with a dropper system or a dropper/packed ice system.
  5. Well, after thinking it over (and doing a little bit of exploration south of the Granite Beacon Pyramid that marks the center of the Farmland outpost), I decided to move the construction of the storage facility onto the ground. Here's what's going on so far...

Behind that 'arm' of dirt (which is my vine farm; now moved off to the left) lies where the facility will reside. Those with good eyes can see the Stone Bricks that make up the perimeter of the 64x64 area where the facility resides (along with the gaps between the Cobblestone pillars). The light source is Sea Lanterns, spaced out with an 8 block gap between each Lantern and surrounded by 8 Birch Planks (except for the Lanterns on the edge of the 64x64 area).

Haven't decided on what I want to fill in the space between the Birch Planks, though I am leaning towards either Mossy Cobblestone or Mossy Stone Brick. The bottom of the facility will probably be at least 4-5 blocks above the Stone Brick perimeter.

After I get the bottom of the facility in place (and the sorting system as well), I'll be constructing some farming towers to the left based off the Semi-Automatic Wheat/Beetroot/Potato/Carrot Farm, the Automatic Bamboo/Sugar Cane Farm, the Automatic Pumpkin/Melon Farm and the Semi-Automatic Nether Wart Farm videos made by K1 Inc and have those farms feed into the storage facility.

And, though this happened after taking this photo, I've also started work on an underground rail system going from my Granite Hut to the Granite Pyramid. I'll get a pic of that put up as soon as it's constructed.
  6. Update on the Storage Facility...

Not much has changed from the last photo (though all of the 36 Sea Lanterns in the middle of the pillar perimeter have been wrapped in Birch Planks). Did start construction on a semi-auto farming tower on the left (see previous post for vid links).

What you see above was (lazily) done in 2 in-game days. On the left is the receiving system for the farming tower (10 Hoppers & 2 Large Chests; temporary until the Storage Facility is complete). To the right, just outside of the pillar perimeter, is a ring of scaffolding 5 blocks above the Stone Bricks ring. The scaffolding is there for easy access to getting down from the pillars without taking fall damage. And, I decided to make the pillars 7 blocks high, which will make installing the Sea Lanterns onto the platform very interesting.

I'll more than likely add more photos to this post, if I finish the pillars (and start construction on the Platform) before I go to sleep in about 6 hours.

P.S. Though not really related to the Farmland build, I have gotten around to installing the Fabric Mod onto Minecraft, along with 3 EMC-approved mods (Roughly Enough Items (REI), ShulkerBox Tooltip & Inventory Profiles). I chose them to help make the Farmland builds easier to make (already 'abusing' ShulkerBox Tooltip & REI fully :D ).
  7. Though I haven't done much in the way of the farming tower, I have started work on the Platform and seeing how to incorporate some massive storage silos into the build (basing the silo design off of the Guardian Farm part 1 by YouTube user wattles).

Once I get the design ironed out and built, I'll showcase them here (though, if you'd rather check it out in person, feel free to hit me up if you see me on).
  8. Gotten a lot of stuff done, as far as the construction of the Storage Facility & the Farming Tower.

In a previous post, I had mentioned that the Granite Pyramid was made of both Polished Granite & Polished Diorite. The showcase of this is the cobblestone generator that's literally in my crosshairs. Visited a res on a different server that this was on. Not much output, to be told (max is 13 cobble), but it works in a pinch for my project.

As you can see, the Farming Tower & the Storage Silos have been worked on. The silos are currently 7 blocks high (still haven't decided how big to make them) with plans to put the sorting system in the very top of the Storage Facility.

And this is me preparing to tackle the Farming Tower in a big way. The tower of scaffolding goes all the way up to where the last plots of dirt will be placed. The plan is to have 9 floors (3 Wheat and 2 each of Carrot, Potato & Beetroot) for farming, with more Towers built for the Nether Warts, Bamboo, Sugar Cane, Pumpkins & Melons.

Also, I haven't marked where to put it at, but I do plan to recreate the Industrial Furnace System that K1 Inc made, as part of a bigger Workshop.
  9. An update on the progress of the Farmland outpost.

As you can probably tell, this is a screenshot of just one small portion of my outpost (in fact, where the majority of my farming structures will be. Above the outline of a white box (the build site for a rest stop for players, as they come through my outpost) is what I had been mainly focused on for a period of time. On the right is where the Woodland Mansion is being constructed. To the left is the Workshop and a few farms.

The grey path beside the white box is a cobble tunnel going from underneath my Granite Hut all the way to the Granite Beacon Pyramid. The 2 small structures in front of the Pyramid is a small cobble generator (do plan to build a bigger one later) and my Farming Tower.

The big grey box on the bottom is the new location of my Storage Facility (build site was above the Woodland Mansion on a Glass Platform. I got an idea (thanks to Minecrafting YouTuber Mumbo Jumbo) for a Magma Block-based Mob Farm, so be on the lookout for updates on that (along with Iron, Nether Wart, Bonemeal, Tree, Kelp, Pumpkin, Melon & XP farms).

P.S. If anyone's interested in building a Witch Farm, there's a Witch's Hut in a nearby swamp. Just go to -3506 22312 (It'll be the Granite Beacon Pyramid) and head West. Leave me a note if you do, okay?
  10. I like the idea of vertical farming. Keep up the good work.
  11. Then you'll love what I got planned. All but the Mob, Iron & XP farms will be vertical.
  12. Well, with us now officially running 1.16.4 here on EMC, I now have even more farms to build.

Joining the lineup of farms is a Crimson/Warped Fungus farm (with the Roots being deposited into a composter for bone meal) and a Crimson/Warped Tree farm.

BTW, any practical use for the Wart Blocks that I'll get from the Tree Farm?
  13. Big things coming to Farmland in the coming weeks.

Thanks to a video released on Christmas Day by Shulkercraft, I'm gonna add their Ultimate Storage Room underneath the Storage Facility for even more storage capacity (may also put in an Industrial Furnace system & a Potions Lab with it).

    And now, onto the showcase.

As you can see, my Farming Tower is complete and fully operational (just gotta remember to turn Buildmode off when planting). Over on the right is the 'above-ground' part of the Storage Facility, with a Water Elevator connected to the top (where all of the 'wiring' will go). On the other side of the Farming Tower are 2 chunk-sized Nylium plots for my 'manual' Crimson & Warped farms (said plots were made with one piece each of Crimon & Warped Nylium, 8 stacks of netherrack and at least 8 stacks of Bone Meal).

An aerial view of how I plan to get up to the wiring (and no, it won't be the scaffolding). The 3 rectangular rooms (one's behind the scaffolding) will have Water Elevators in them, much like what I installed to get up to the Glass platform. And, as you can see, I'm already working on building up the 3rd silo (with the layout for the 4th one in place).

And last, but not least, a view into Silo #1. The scaffolding marks where one end of the chests will be at. Each Silo, when complete, will be able to store 49 different items (for a grand total of 196 different items). Add in the underground storage that I'm gonna install, and the Storage Facility will be able to hold close to 500 different items.

Later on, I plan to put in the Cobblestone & Basalt Generators made by EagleEye621 (built them both on single-player to make sure they worked). May replace the 'visible' flooring for the silos with basalt (the visible flooring being the cobblestone that's inside the scaffolding perimeter).
  14. First post of the New Year and it's a good one.

My next big step in getting the Storage Facility fully operational in the form of my Iron Farm. Though you can't see him, Bob the Zombie is in a minecart, 'scaring' the Villagers in the 4 pods into summoning an Iron Golem. Haven't tested it yet fully, but it should get me around 500 Iron Ingot an hour.

Up next, is either a Mob/XP farm (built in the air) or the Gold Farm.
  15. Added a Trading Room upgrade to Farmland that should help me out in the long run.

As you can see by the photos, each wall has 6 workstations. I got another room set up like this, with plans to add a Librarian-exclusive room that has access to the Max Enchant Books later on down the road.

UPDATE: started construction of the Library, where I'll have (in the end) access to the Max Enchant books. It'll be made from Dark Oak and Basalt & will have an Enchanting Room (table & bookshelves), Anvil and Grindstone.
  16. No pics of the Librarian room just yet (working out the final touches in the Librarian placement design). I do, however, come bearing progress on my much talked about Storage Facility.

I am currently working on clearing out some space underneath the Facility for an underground storage system (connected to the Facility and the various farms that are on the menu). This system is based off the '2 million item' Minecraft Storage Room with Automatic Sorting System video by Shulkercraft.

On the left is the West Wing of the underground storage system (The East & South Wings haven't been started at the time of the photo). On the right is the tunnel that leads from the Jungle Temple-based Workshop 1.0 (working on designs for a new Workshop as I speak) and cuts through the Trading Rooms (marked by the 2 green figures) and over the Library Trading Room (the blue diamond between the green figures).

It is fortunate that the location of the underground storage system is close to my Iron Farm. Lets me build up my iron supply while I'm clearing out the space to 'install' the chests & hoppers, along with the redstone wiring.

Once the system is up and running, I will be showing it off, before I get back to finishing the Storage Facility and building some auto-food farms.

  17. Major progress made on the underground storage system (even with a slight hiccup on gathering the supplies for my upcoming Slaughterhouse build, based on K1 Inc's Redstone Slaughterhouse video). So, without further ado... the reveal.

This view is from the inside of the system, looking towards the entrance. On the left is some large chests containing stone brick blocks and its various forms. The middle chest next to the crafting table & stonecutter has an assortment of items. The scaffolding behind the crafting table leads up to the surface and behind the staircase leading up to the Storage Facility (for quick access to my iron farm). On the right is a dual furnace system that lets me smelt the cobblestone & iron ore blocks obtained from excavating the space for the storage system into iron ingots & stone blocks (said stone blocks get turned into stone brick blocks and its various forms). And, though hidden by a stone brick stair, there's another large chest containing spruce logs, saplings and the various spruce items made from the logs.

This view is from the entrance looking into the storage system. The lighting situation is not complete yet, though I do plan to keep the lanterns in place.

Though it's not complete yet, a look into the West Wing of the storage system. In this wing (and the other 2 wings once completed) are 200 large chests split across 2 floors and 10 bays (20 chests per 2-floor bay). I should have the West Wing completed sometime tomorrow (with a photo reveal to go along with it).

Soon as the storage system is completed (but not 'connected' with the redstone wiring & hopper system), I'll be getting onto outfitting one of the cobblestone silos on the Storage Facility for storing the items from the Farming Tower. It'll make it easier for me to feed the animals in the Slaughterhouse when I get it built up later.

  18. doing a melon farm is on my agenda. My main concern was having enough iron for hoppers, which I'm glad I decided to build the iron farm after the farming tower. Also got plans for the other crop farms and possibly a mob farm (though if I do make a mob farm, it'll be the last farm I make).
