No, I don't want the reset. 81 vote(s) 69.2%
  1. Wait so the nether will not get reseted? I vote yes of the nether does not get reserved but if it does I vote no :p I have a double blaze grinder :p
  2. really? not even with the terrain gen changes?
    use a new seed. bam.
  3. Use a new seed = full reset because black area's will generate like that new seed.

  4. It is always an awesome idea to enter a thread by insulting everyone who posted before you. This is totally going to help you get your point across.

It takes a lot longer that 10 minutes to get to unexplored areas. Try doubling that number and you might be a little closer to an actual figure.

This idea has been posted. I think this is semi valid, however I think it is less valid than the idea of a larger PRA that is reset on a regular basis. Even if you have more waypoints - eventually they will all be explored and the resources around them will be used. Then again people are back to walking half an hour or more. I think a useful PRA is a much more effective plan.

Take a step outside any spawn point. It is very broken.

Again, the argument that people are to lazy to walk - it is not a valid argument. Maybe if I say it 100 more times someone will understand - Just because someone chooses to play the game differently than you does not make that method any less valid or does it make that person more "lazy" than you.

  5. Already suggested that... And i agree with Melody on the larger PRA, but im in favor of a 1.5k block wide main spawn PRA
  6. guys it will happen one way or another there is alot of things that need to go into the wild say temples village changes and village different village texture in desert ( i think ) emerald ore and alot more things that i probably did not say

Edit: and its good because there will be more ores so prices will drop a little and the end wont be a water warzone

edit: again just saw new snapshot there will be a teleporter to seed thing :p just to let u know
  7. Please read most of the thread. Temples will spawn in the black zone, there ae no village changes, new villages in deserts will spawn in the black zone, emeralds can be found in the black zone and can be obtained infinitely from villagers.
In response to your edit, they wont be resetting the end as it is perfectly fine. If you are referring to diamond prices, if we wanted prices to fall we would have kept the duped diamonds in the system. You also realize that there are tons of ores 10 mins out from the spawn, right?
Edit: in response to your second edit, that doesnt matter at all.
  8. yes but the trading will change seen the tweaks after a lot of trading of say 1 coal for 1 emerald not being serious it will change
  9. It doesnt matter if it will change in 1.4, because people are going to farm til they have many chests full of emeralds in 1.3. And it probably wont change.

Sorry, it took me a sec to reply back, was just petitioning the president of Egypt to build some pyramids closer to my house because it’s not fair they are on the other side of the world and I would have to fly for half the day to see them. Anyways I truly apologize if I offended anyone with the peeing contest reference, I was merely commenting on all the off topic spelling and grammatical error comments and banter that was making it difficult for one to follow other’s suggestions, ideas and rebuttals in the debate.

You are right, I apologize for using random figures for made up quotes from a theoretical person. Let me rephrase in a more factual manner. “I don’t want to go to the southern teleport on SMP4 and take a boat due west for exactly 14:19:32 to an unexplored area of the map.” Besides all of your amazing commentary about my post, let’s get to your counterpoint to my solution.

    1. My bad, didn’t see nor did I read every post ever on the forums.

    2. How does a larger reset area that is reset on a regular basis solve the specific issue of if we should reset the entire wild after this next specific update, and become a standard on defining when and how we should reset in the future, and to allow those members who do choose to build in the wild more time to enjoy their creations.

    3. Really, how does anything involving the reset area apply. This is an actual question. I was under the impression that those areas are basically saved when they are first generated and then Justin can go back in and paste the original chunk in their place as needed with MC Edit or whatever the Man uses. If that is the case, the originals don’t have anything from the upcoming update, therefore the only way to get shiny green gems in those PRAs is to do a complete wild reset, resave the PRAs and then reset as you see fit. Again, that would solve an issue on peoples travel time looking for resources kind of, but that’s not the debate. Quote from Mr. Imaginary Guy “Except I’m gonna go mine that area and write down the exact location of every emerald I find and go out immediately after the reset and mine them all just so people have to still go out further to find them, Muaaaa Haaaaaa Haaaaaa.” Gosh, why is that guy so mean.

I’m sorry you missed the point of my entire post, but the damaged areas surrounding the spawn points shouldn’t be a talking point on a debate on wild reset due to SGGs (lol shiny green gems) and the fate of everyone’s work and structures. Also, they are going to be there a week after a reset, after a PRA reset, after Mr. Imaginary Guy gets banned for setting up traps with his trip wire “But it was for monsters, not my fault that griefer was in my house.”

Huh? What? Are you being prejudice and saying imaginary obese people with cardiovascular dieses are lazy? I know those words didn’t come out of my mouth, so is that what you are implying? You want to know what would be epically hilarious… If we did the wild reset and a temple didn’t randomly generate in any chunks of the usual preloaded sections of the wild and everyone had to walk out 5000 blocks anyways =)

Just saying, reset when there needs to be a reset.
  11. This is in reply to ob1bob because my iPad cannot seem to handle replying to such an ownage comment as that (aka it closes safari)

  16. These are all your opinions, he was stating his, and as such, opinions are neither right nor wrong, thats whats makes them opinions. Furthermore, there are quite a few members that agree with him, pointing out how you don't agree with him doesnt nullify his opinion.

  17. A reset is overkill for just that. 1.2 was serious enough to gain a reset, but this, i think not. Besides all desert villages are are npc villages made from sandstone. And how you brought up the villages greifed so no villagers, the temples will suffer the same fate.
  18. So it seems whenever someone actually posts a decent comment you can't reply to, You have a strop and ignore them.

  19. What if we worked out a way (through the magic of the Moderators ;) ) where we could single out the chunks in which the HUGE wild outposts and stuff like that are and not reset those chunks ? I am not sure if this is possible though. This way us wild dwellers do not have our hard work destroyed and the Town dwellers get a fresh new wild.
Maybe this could work in a way kind of like the Protected spawn zone or a modified temporary version of the PRA??
I think this would be awesome if we could do this. Becaue while I am VERY against a reset and losing all that hard work it would be nice to get a new wild whilst keeping all that work.
