I suppose it isn't, although I've never used the punch II thing. Fireworks are just easier. Although they may be a bit more expensive (especially if you've got infinity), they certainly are less flawed. It's a definite boost when you right click, no matter which direction you're facing.
Technically, . . . If a flying method is closer to infinite, it has more uses. Rocket Boosting and Bow Boosting both can be theoretically infinite; however, they have several constraints to prevent true infinity. Quantity is Rocket Boosting's restriction. Quantity, durability, and The Player's health are Bow Boosting's restrictions; its also more variable by effectiveness, including "Type: Null". - 1 vs. 3 + r. Do the rockets win? I'd say yes. -
I'm now starting to think about a new theory... Is it possible that Mojang wants to restrict bows (mending + infinity) because they allow you to create an infinite flight? It took me a while to figure it out (I never used bows in this way) but it seems most logical to me. I still think it's a horrible decision of course (provided they are going through with this) because it also affects an important gameplay mechanic. I can get an OP infinite sword (nice enchants + mending) but not a bow? Even though those are invaluable with some enemies (like skeletons & charged creepers)?
Yeah, I'm quite sure that's the reason it's disabled. Like "Huh, they found a way to gain height and momentum while flying. But we wanted to add a method for that. Well, let's prevent the unintended method, then.".
No, Minecraft I just noticed in the profiles that 1.11.1 is a thing. And it is confirmed If you have a bow with infinity or mending on it then you can no longer add the other enchant. I'd say Mojang tries to kill the combat aspect of the game because of something as trivially stupid as Elytra flight.
A Reiteration: - The Developer has a special offer for you today. It's Minecraft 1.11.1: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .1.11.1 Update. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... If you don't take this update, EMC 1.11 will come sooner. Likewise, if you do take this, you and the audience will have to wait longer for the 1.10 and 1.11 Package to arrive. I'm sure tons of people here want Shulker Boxes, the backpack blocks, now rather than later. Right?! . . .. . .. . .Deal or No Deal? . . . . . . . . .
With the new Firework feature of 1.11.1, I will bring fireworks back to 3. I'll get 1.11.1 support on current version up tonight hopefully, but so far the 1.11.1 seems small enough it shouldnt set us behind any at all.
How did I never notice this thread. They're adding different nuggets of other materials? I've been playing with different nugget types for about 3 1/2 years in modded. When will they add Carpenter Blocks and Extra Utility's micro blocks? That would be grand.
Can you explain the fireworks thing in a bit more detail please? I'm really not sure I understand. -One of my favorite features of EMC is how fireworks are infinite use. It allows me to make cool, elaborate designs (with fancy names even!) and use them whenever / wherever I like. This isn't changing is it?
That'd be cool. Some of my recipes are quite elaborate, getting 3 instead of 1 would be great. I'd still like some specifics on "Vanilla 1.11(.1) vs EMC," regarding fireworks, though. But I guess that will have to wait for the actual 1.11(.1) update thread?
He was regarding my edited post(since it was misleading) in 1.10 mojang changed the recipe from 1 to 3 fireworks. He was going to revert it back to 1 but it will stay at 3
In the mean time the Spigot project has introduced 1.11.1 already, which is pretty fast. However... It's still in beta (if you try to install it you'd need to specify --rev 1.11.1 manually when building) and there is already talk about some introduced crashes and glitches. Still, it's an update
We're going to stick with 1.11.0 until 1.11.2 is out which is going to be at least a week (Mojang Developer told me they will not rush .2, maybe pre-release this week) So if we get .0 'ready', we will release that, with ViaVersion offering .1 support to .0. As for fireworks Vanilla 1.11 bumped recipe to 3. That will remain 3 for EMC even with infinite fireworks, due to the new Elytra benefit. Nothing about fireworks you know and love will change for their effects. The only thing that will start consuming is Elytra Boosting. Hand placing and dispensers will still be infinite. Renamed/Promo Fireworks will be blocked from Elytra use to prevent accidents.
