  1. Mine is an Acer Aspire 5750 6667 with an intel Core i3 2.4ghz quad core (or so it says) processor with 4096 mb RAM and a 640gb SATA hard drive. It has Intel's HD 3000 integrated graphics with 1760mb of dynamic video memory. It has a 16.5" screen with a resolution of 1366x768p with a matte black casing. What's yours?

EDIT: I really think that all three major operating systems have their ups and downs. Macs have typically more computing power, but are spendy. Windows machines are typically cheaper and can be repaired by anyone, where Apple has to fix Apple's products. Linux uses up the least system resources typically and is good for servers and anyone in need of a free os. I've tried all three os's and I prefer Windows for the cheapness and familiarity, OSX for it's (typical) speediness, and Linux because, well, it's Linux!
  2. I have a pc and I know it's a acer but I dont know much else about it {I'm not a big computer guy}.
  3. Only one Mac vote? :( I use a 2007 20" Apple iMac with 4 GB of RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU.
  4. I use a Macbook :D

Macbook 2012 model, battery upgrades and many other upgrades like memory too :D

ITS MY BABY! I WUUVV IT!
  5. I currently have a 13" Macbook Pro, newest model I think. Probably going to get a Desktop PC sometime this year though.
  6. I'd name mine but I won't. You can call it the craptop. :)
  7. I have a hp elitebook 8760w:) 32gb ram, 750gb hdd, nvidia quadro 4000m, 1080p screen at 17.3 inches:) i love it!!:) oh and an i7 2820qm at 2.3ghz!:)
  8. Mac, it requires the least tampering and/or searching to make it run fast, its pretty good for gaming, and easy to use. In other words, you don't have to go looking or upgrade your computer for thousands of dollars to make it run fast.
  9. True. You do have to pay 1000s of dollars to buy one in the first place though :p. I'd love a Mac but they're just too expensive.

  10. You just have to pay more upfront for less hardware:/ with macs, you pay a lot for the name:/ but they are fun to use:) and tampering with computers is fun!!
  11. Fun if you're a geek! I don't really want to spend time trying to make something run faster if it isn't even slow.
  12. i have always grown up on pc, so thats where my bias is:)

  13. I grew up on PC too, but the thing is:

Nobody hacks mac. Every single computer that i have ever owned has either

    • Had too much memory and worked like a freaking typewriter, it was that slow.
    • Got a virus

  15. Oh really? :p
There are plenty of security issues with macs. In comparison to Windows OS, there are a lot less, but honestly if you are going to write a threat against an OS, are you going to target the large Windows market or the small OSX market? A 0-day Windows vulnerability is much more valuable to these jerks than a 0-day OSX vulnerability.
Also a Mac is a PC... so I assume the question is OS right? OSX or Windows.

Aren't the new macs all x86 architecture now anyways (i5/i7)? Even when they were PPC, bootcamp loaded Windows XP, and OSx86 ran on the x86 architecture right? So I think the question is more about what OS you are running. I chose the one with more available software... Windows :)
  16. Correction! PC is a personal computer not an operating system :) Correct term is Microsoft Windows.

  17. Well... there are people who "hack" macs but not going on that topic. Macs also have virus', its just rare like Linux Ubuntu. I think there are 27 known virus' for Ubuntu Linux but they cannot reach your computer unless you install them.
  18. I'm currently using my home computer. Specs:
    • OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
    • Processor: AMD Athlon (Duo-Core) 64-bit 2.80 GHz
    • RAM(Random Access Memory): 4 GB
    • GPU: ASUS EAH5450 1 GB
    • HDD: 500 GB, NTFS(default file format for windows)
    • Anti-Virus: Norton 360 5.0 Premier Edition
Its a moderate home computer if you ask me ;)
  19. Inspiron 2320 Dell 23' touch screen 6Gb Memory, 500Gb hard drive, I think 4 or 6Ghz

  20. The reasons I have a PC:

    I didn't pay for it.
    Great for what I do.
    Sony Vegas Pro 10.
Lots of other Windows only programs.

The reasons I still chose Linux:
