  1. My mom was watching me play minecraft and someone was being inaproprite and she almost took me away from minecraft

  3. Smp3 is probably the most mellow of the servers. It's made up of all the people who have been on the empire for a while
  4. did u just reply to ur self? lol
  5. I'm on smp9 all the time, but I'm starting to branch out to other servers as well. I try to do what I can to weed out the bad eggs, but usually it's not enough. I can only do so much :/
  6. I should be a mod, I will bring an end to this injustice.
Also with all the other mods out of the way. I can finally steal all the pokemon.
  7. you probably could be and i want the unknown

  8. All the things stated here are true about how to handle situations. I can tell you we're far better off than any other community you would find with moderation. I'm sorry to say that this world has fallen into some whirlwind of instant gratification and I'm not sure where it's come from. 4 minutes to handle anything in today's world is considered shocking by any professional company out there (except Jimmy Johns, those guys are nuts!)

I'm going to respond to this with the example Justin always used in the past. Try going into any game on XBL without hearing a racist term or vulgar language and making a report. I'd guarantee you won't see action taken within 4 minutes (if at all). As a growing community we're going to get this and we are continuting to add mods as we grow. You wouldn't want us to just add people because they're active...trust me. You'd then be yelling in the forums that "OMG the mods are ban happy/abuse powers!"

I'm sorry to be so harsh on this, but I think one of the reasons we're at 30K and growing fast is because of how great we handle the moderation around here.

The absolute best tip we can give is: /report and /ignore. Using these will take you about 4 seconds and will 100% cure the problem you are having.
  9. I don't think anything else needs to be said here.
  10. Maybe you have a gif for such an occasion? lol

  12. sadly, though... you can only report ONE person every hour or half hour.. which is highly not enough when normally its more than one person being stupid.

  15. This is certainly a limitation that does act as a double edged sword. If we allowed more than this, there would be people that would have our square tool FLOODED with false claims/reports (it does already with the limit, lol). I do know this limits some good reporting, but having us flooded that much would have an even slower reaction time to the reports that do come in.

  16. indeed, ignoring people is the best thing ever. though, just having chat off all together is even better! mine is never ever on. i like to play silently. since i am never shopping for things, i don't need anything. plus, i am capable of finding my own stores without asking who sells something. and who needs to talk to a bunch of 8 year olds who can't be mature? lol if you want to talk to someone just send 'em a message :) that way its easy.

though, i do think the mods do everything and anything they can all the time. i say go them! :)

  17. I remember something being said once about "reputation" being a factor in the reporting system. Is it, yet? Perhaps people with higher reputations could /report more often?

  18. you do have a very very very very good point. 0.o so i guess in ways it is good and bad. but i guess it does do enough.

yes yes yes yes! go the good people! lol
  19. I feel these are appropriate for the occasion:

  20. Still something we plan on looking into, but Justin right now has to focus on preparing us for the new Mojang Multiplayer system they're going to release. Long story short, Justin has to take all his plugins and re-write them to fit a whole new system that they weren't designed for. We're guessing most servers will not be prepared for when this happens, so we're trying to take a very pre-active approach to be as prepared as possible for it. :)
