  1. Imagine, a player asks in chat if someone sells a vault voucher. You know you have one in your shop, and want to tell the person you have one.

So, you're saying your residence address in chat, but you hear the chat alert sound from your own message.

I feel like this is kind of pointless and should be removed.

    Thoughts?

EDIT: Oh god the typos :p Shouldn't do this on my phone.

  2. I think it's a small feature that could be sort of easy to implement but wouldn't really make a big difference.
  3. Yes, it'd be a small thing and may not make much of a difference, but it's not too hard to implement I imagine.
  4. But I like spamming myself in res chat :(

  5. I imagine it wouldn't be too hard, but the developers really do have more pressing matters to focus on. But hey, if they were to do it, I wouldn't complain.

  6. I'm sorry, but I don't really understand what you're suggesting :p
  7. Try typing your username in res chat
  8. Ahh yeah, now I understand :p I believe that some time in the past (not sure if that still happens nowadays) I said something with my alt, TomvanWijnen2, and then on my main account (this one) I got the ping for a message/name/whatever :p was quite funny :p

I see your suggestion, but, to be honest, I kind of like it to get the ping sound :p So I'll stay neutral on this one.

  9. I think this is a pretty good suggestion. And it'd take in the area of maybe 30-50 seconds to implement I imagine.

  10. Yeah, this isn't really annoying or anything, but it's a bit odd and should be easily fixed.
Always when I say something about my alt (OrangeDuck607) I get the 'ping' for 607 :p
  11. Which, imo, is really funny :p
  12. Hmm, I'm not against the idea but I actually like it the way it is. Because on a positive side it also helps you to check if an alert is really working and I kinda like that.

  14. Bump

Any opinions from the staff side?
  15. It's time for another bump
  16. Suggestions really need to not be expected to have staff input. We can't answer on every single one and bumping the threads relentlessly until we do isn't helpful.

We've seen it. I don't know if anything is being done for it. I'm sure a developer will discuss it with Aikar and discuss pros/cons and they'll either add it or not. Unless it really needs community input, I'd honestly rather see these type of small suggestions sent directly to the developers.
  17. Or a better option could be if people could either choose if they want it or not. Just like some of the options on /ps.
Still though, I kinda think this is too small and doesn't need a priority at the moment, but maybe in the future.
