It's 5am, do you know where your brain is?

  1. Actually it's closer to 6am right now. I think my brain went to bed without me.
    Blaaargh, I am zombie.

Laugh or I'll eat your cerebellum.
  2. I think I have the opposite problem. It's nearly 12pm here but it almost feels as if my brain is still lying in bed somewhere :D
  3. I hate that so much. Especially when it starts pulling Inception-level mind-fluffery.

    True story:
Last week, had a dream I was late for work. Was freaking out and scrambling to get all my stuff together.
Then I woke up and was like "Oh, phew, just a dream."
    *looks at clock*
    "OH CRAP I'M LATE!!! Wait..."
    *looks outside*
"That... does not look like late afternoon? What the heck?"
    AND THEN I WOKE UP.

And it was only 10am or so.

So I went back to sleep.
  4. Let me start off by saying that my subconscious is just plain crazy. My dreams are never simple and I almost always remember them.

My favorite one so far has been me getting ready for work in my bathroom and my work appearing in my bathroom, lab tables and all. And of course, my primary thought wasn't 'oh this must be a dream cause that's ridiculous'. No, I stepped out of the shower and immediately was thinking about finding a way to adjust the humidity in the bathroom to lab conditions or fretting over writing an IAE for the daily logs being off that day. Which in itself is hilarious, because we note temperature, but not humidity.

Then I woke up after a good half-day of lab processing in my bathroom and had to start a full day of work. Longest day ever!
  5. I don't have dreams. I just go to sleep and wake up with nothing in between.

  6. Moose is like that. When he does have a dream he gets so excited to tell me about it.

  7. I actually have to get at up 5:30AM to get to school, so at 5AM, my brain's probably getting ready. But then my brain gets confused sometimes. Once I woke up at 1AM and got ready for breakfast, and I didn't realize it until the bus I usually take didn't arrive for an hour.

  10. I was up until about 4:30 am. I suffer from regular bouts of insomnia and sleeping pills just make me a zombeh O_O Sleep deprivation definitely makes your brain go on vacation, that's for sure!

  14. I think that this has become a discussion about sleeping and dreams? I don't usually have dreams but when I do, I can usually remember most of them :p This morning I woke up at 8 but then told myself I'd get ten more minutes and woke up at 11:30. I hate it when that happens. Wasted three and a half hours >_>

  15. Why would you wait for the bus for an hour!? D:

  16. When I was a kid, every Daylight Savings switch I would end up outside an hour early, not even realizing my mistake. That was before these new fangled auto-updating clocks and before people used their cell phone as their alarm clock.

^that makes me sound really old now that I think about it, but it wasn't really that long ago
  17. My mother thinks i'm crazy for wanting to get rid of Daylight Savings. It so wasteful. We still have mini-grandfather clocks around the house, so i need to set 5+ clocks every year. and one of them goes through 6 double AA batteries a year at least.
  18. There's no daylight savings in Hawaii, and they haven't self-destructed over there :p I agree with you, I don't see how it's anything but a nuisance any more.

  19. Anyone using the term "new-fangled" automatically sounds old, regardless of age or the relative passage of time involved.
