actually wouldn't that be (2r²)-(r²π) ... you subtract r² from both side ... you then get (r²)-(π) ... then it would turn into (2h²)-(π) ... or (h²)-(π/2) ... which would be diameter squared - minus half diameter ... which is same as radius squared minus diameter ...
Woah, you cant subtract r^2 You can divide it, leading to r^2(2-pi), but you cant simplify via subtraction/addition because of the multiplication, which needs to be simplified first If responding to me, see above^^^

Derp, i factored, i didnt divide.. And (2r^2)/(r^2) leaves you with 2, not r^2, since those numbers cancel out

For all who were wondering (probably not many) this is the formula for the area between a square and a circle inside it (with the same diameter as the length of the square side)! ([2r]²)=Area of the square, since 2 radii=the diameter, which is the length of the side of a square, and since a square's sides are all equal, thats the area! And pi*r^2 gives you the area of the circle inside the square, so the difference must be the area in between! And you will never ever use that outside a math class, lol
