The changing of spawns

  1. What is the wasteland? I thought it was wilderness
  2. This sounds so good, because whenever I need sand, I feel so terribly sorry for ruining the awesome tropical beaches I find out there... It's just how you say it, we all want the Wild to look nice while Wild.
  3. "It's not that confusing"
    *Posts something even more confusing

  4. Wild = current wild and is never going to be reset.
Wasteland = new world that will be reset every time a new ore is added.

Although I am expecting the, "But you can't reset the wasteland. I built a huge base there even though I knew it was going to be reset" comments.

  5. Another thing I don't get, we didn't reset for Emeralds, by far a very rare ore.
But we are resetting for 1.5, when the only new ore added in 1.5 was the Nether Quartz Ore, an entirely common new ore that is in the nether.

  6. The wild is not being reset. A new wild called wasteland is being added.
  7. Adding a new is pretty much resetting, we're getting a new world either way.
    But the point still stands.
  8. Don't quote me on this, but I believe it's partly to future proof the wild too.
  9. D'ya see what I did there?

  16. Makes sense.
  17. Way back in early Minecraft, if you went out far enough, you would get to the edge of the map. Beyond the edge of the map was referred to as Wastelands. That is where the term comes from. Later, the edge of the map became an ocean.
  18. I thought it was called the Farlands?
  19. Consider yourself quoted.
