Rupees limit at shops

  1. Let me know if you want help testing.
  2. In the real world, a store that bans people because they buy too much is unheard of. The goal of most shopkeepers is to sell as much as possible. If they can't stock enough to keep up with demand, they add more supply chains.

  3. Exactly, people are only banned if they write bad checks or shop lift. There's no way to do that in EMC unless they have perms to your res.

As for the quick buy option this is really no different than having a shop already other than "people won't come to my shop". You can have your shop stock and go out and still gather the materials in the wild/nether etc. You don't have to be there all the time like everyone thinks. There was a shop on SMP7 that was torn down because the owner hated being stuck there all the time and wanted to actually go explore. He felt like he HAD to be there all the time.

If people "won't come see my shop" why not put your stock underground like jkjkjk and use what's visible for a nice house?

  4. *heart attack*
    Your not diamond anymore!
  5. I know. It ran out today, and im probs not renewing it for this month bc I am away for half of it.
  6. I am one who is not with you on this one. I think the new shop system sounds really cool.
  7. Have you noticed that the people objecting are mostly players like me, that have played for many hours, almost every day, for months - and the ones that are supporting it are, mostly, newer players with little minecraft experience.

    I know that you're going to press ahead with this system, regardless of what I say;

That's why I am not bothering to shout "hell no! please no!" because I know it won't help.

Instead, I am pleading that you *try it out* - maybe on just one server, maybe for just limited products - before you impose it on all of us.

You're saying the main advantage is that new players will be able to sell things easier? Well... yeah; they won't have all the "trouble" of setting up a sell-chest (RTFM; it's not rocket-science). They won't have to put in the hours of efforts in attracting customers without 'spamming'; they won't have to learn about supply/demand, pricing, service to customers, and all the other funky stuff.

For me, at least half of the challenge and fun of EMC has been working out how to operate a successful shop. You're taking away all that challenge; all the hundreds of hours of fun, trial-and-error, heartache and joy that I've experienced in trying to make my own shop work.
  8. P.S. Running a shop isn't for everyone. Nor is grinding; nor, even, is "going out in the wild" - although I don't really approve of the types of players who never venture out; after all, that's what minecraft is all about.

But minecraft is such an open game - a 'sandbox' game - that's the joy of it.

If you want to specialize, for example in farming or redstone or making pretty buildings or making wilderness outposts or running a casino or starting a lumber company - all those things, and more, are available to you.

The current shops and economy are the main point of my playing on SMP.

There's other things - I enjoy going mining and exploring the wild with others, too. But the shop/economy/bartering really is a large part of it.
  9. That wouldn't really do much, just testing it on one server (and I'm not sure how we would even do that, since they're all connected). However, we're a large server, so any 'data' we would get from testing on a small server, wouldn't be accurate to how it would work on a large server.

Also, we have gotten a lot of great feedback from those looking forward to it from "older" players as well. We take feedback from everyone in the community, not just those who think they should have "seniority".
  10. Also, I'm not sure what part of the system you're referring to with your rant there, but nothing in this system will prevent:

"They won't have to learn about supply/demand, pricing, service to customers, and all the other funky stuff."

If you don't use proper pricing, etc. you won't do good.
