Piston Help?

I was trying to add a log cuber to my crimson/warped tree farm, but every time the logs come through it breaks all the pistons/redstone. I thought covering it with glass would help, but no.

There's no tutorial, just some I came up with that worked. It's a design that I use for my main farm and it works. But for some reason it doesn't with the nether wood.

The obby idea works great. The only issue now is that the nether wart clogs the observers/pistons.

yeah, that comes down to the other bit of info: the wart blocks are not destroyed by pistons, unlike leaves.

I'll try to design a sistem that will solve this, but be ready to have a full top of the cube and a pretty empty bottom.
