  1. Hi this nuttyknight42 I played the old pokemon games and then I played let's go eevee! The way you catch pokemon is quite different. Battle wild vs just throwing pokeballs or berry's. Which way do you like better?

  2. I prefer the battle (catch) system personally. But it is fun to break from the same style of gameplay and do different things so I don't mind the catching style of Pokémon Go (which is the same as Let's go Eevee and Let's go Pikachu).

  4. The traditional method is much more challenging, but it does offer a numher of ways to manipulate the odds you have of catching. The catching style by pokemon go and let's go relies on hand coordination, both for getting the curveball and actually hitting the pokemon in the target, minor catch rate manipulations, and the wild pokemon potentially fleeing if you mess up trying to catch it. I'd say the differences between the 2 methods is traditional takes more strategy and planning to be effective, and catching style is more reliant on skill, getting good at training your aim so you can go for the gusto on the later captures. I personally think its hard to say which one i prefer, one reason why i hesitated to vote...

  5. Never played the old and not playing the new... It's only ever been the Go!!!!

  6. Lol nice rhyme!
  7. I feel like 'old vs new' implies that the traditional method is not used anymore, but (fortunately, I think) this is untrue!
In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, released in 2019 (Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! was released in 2018), the traditional method is used. :)
  8. 607 is correct. The Let's Go games were created as a recreation of Pokémon Yellow version only including the original 151 Pokémon. They incorporated the catching methods of Pokémon GO to help introduce the new found mobile fans into the base games. Sword and Shield utilized the traditional methods and we assume the upcoming games (come on Sinnoh Remakes!) will continue to use the traditional methods. The Let's Go series was a one off. However, I like traditional personally.

  9. Yeah, I dont really ever see them replacing the battle system in main-line games. I think that would be too much of a change. At the very least, we should be seeing far more in-depth battle systems before we see new catching systems.
