?

(Be honest please :D) did you understand this, and did you like this? (Non-displayed poll)

I understood this, and I liked this! For some reason! 7 vote(s) 41.2%
I understood this, but I didn't like this! For some reason as well! 1 vote(s) 5.9%
I have no idea what is going on! But I like it! 8 vote(s) 47.1%
Confusion hurts me! So I don't like it! 1 vote(s) 5.9%
  1. I made this a long time ago. It's only a basic function device, but it's very versatile. If given a pulse, it delays the pulse for however long you want, up to five minutes :D This can be extended, but I don't have the time fo dat.
There's probably something out there to compete with this, but this is 100% me :D

As you may have noticed, there are two hoppers. These regulate how long the delay is until the final pulse is released.

Once the button is pressed, an infinite redstone loop, which deactivates a a redstone torch that holds all of the right hopper's items from moving to the left hopper. These items slowly filter into the other hopper one by one until the right hopper is emptied.

At this point, a comparator on the right hopper deactivates, due to the lack of items in the hopper. An inverted torch turns this "black" wire into a charged, well, charge, and activates a piston that blocks (pun absolutely intended) the loop from continuing. At this point, all that needs to be done is the blocks filter back into the right hopper.

Here's a gif of the inside of the hopper! Super interesting! And GREAT framerate!

I also have a short add-on that makes this do this cycle continuously, without manual input. If anyone wants one of these, I'll give an instructions video/a world save.
Hope you enjoyed! Have a nice night some of you, others have a nice day!

  2. Sounds very useful, would love a world download or in depth pictures so I could try this in a few machines :D
  3. Bump. If anyone knows if something does this better, I'd love to know :D
As for a tutorial, I'll try to get something up.
  4. Hm, I'm not sure what I should choose in the poll :p I understand it, but I don't think it's interesting. I also don't actively dislike it though, it's just that it isn't really anything new or complicated.
  5. I'm a fan of these. :) One of my first friends on the Empire (and basically the Empire's greatest redstoner ever) built one of those to hook up to a potion maker that sends a pulse every 30 seconds. It's fantastic. I can just jump an SC of water bottles into it and wait for it to output an SC of Extended Water Breathing or whatever. :D Nice job!

  6. I like it, but then again I'm a redstone nutcase so that really shouldn't come as a big surprise.

I do have a tip though: keep in mind that Aikar has changed the activity rate of the hoppers. So if you have this circuit set up with a specific time in mind then you may need to redo the timer part to reflect the intended delay.

But yeah, I like it. In a recent build (automatically re-locking door) I turned to repeaters because I couldn't be bothered with something else (it also gives a cool visual effect ;)) but this is a sure way to save up precious building space!

So yah, I understand & I like. If only I understood why I liked, that might help me fight off my redstone addiction :D

  7. Like, not interested, I'm down with that :p No vote required, I understand you :3

  8. There are 2 delays. One is for the suction of items and the other delay only happens when the server is lagging. Otherwise the items will filter through like normal.
  9. I understood this, but you could have made this so much more simple.

  10. In what way?
  11. Well I'm not a redstone person and I have no Idea of what you did  or what purpose it is for, but I do like it. :)
