MC 1.1 and world changes

  1. justin, there are BIG projects in the wild i have seen, cant we put something around them through a program so they dont reset them?
  2. All of them? Either all of them or none (if you want to keep it fair)... It'll take days if not weeks to set sumtin up like that.
  3. Or turn it into a application process.

    Accepted projects will be preserved(moved) elsewhere or something.
  4. By the way, pine forests now have snow and ice in them, so that could be an explanation.
  5. go to your minecraft folder right click and convert to previus versions
  6. From a technology perspective I would prefer stability over preserving wilderness creations. If we divert from the norm on this update we are in untested territory. Its a risk. Justin knows the application well so its his call if that risk is reasonable.

    From the perspective of a player, I think that what makes those creations in the wild beautiful is the impermanence of them. That adds specialness which is part of why people choose to build there. If you don't reset it, you diminish that specialness. I would much prefer to see the wild reset and enjoy the new terrain.
