Installing Minecraft World Downloader for 1.8.8?

  1. Hey everyone

I used to use World Downloader way back before the updated minecraft launcher. It came in handy when having to do some modifications without having to try and re-create everything in creative mode. I also used it when I found some amazing places in the wild etc.

However, since the new minecraft launcher I haven't been able to figure out how to get any world downloaders to work. Anyone have some suggestions or figured it out on getting them installed and working? Cause I found a pretty neat place in the waste currently and would like to save it before it gets erased etc in the future.

Step by step instructions work pretty well. But some sites require me to install other third party mod loaders which don't give clear instructions on how to install them or use them it seems like. I have no interest in using any other mods other then world downloader though.
  2. Well, it won't work on 1.8.8. What you need is a modified version of Minecraft which actually allows for mods to be used. The most commonly known mod loaders are Forge and LiteLoader. Although WorldDownloader is a LiteLoader plugin (and LiteLoader has a 1.8 version) I'm pretty sure (though not 100% certain) that it won't work with 1.8.8.

Most of these mod loaders have issues with the latest version. LiteLoader's version is called 1.8.0 for a reason...

I'd suggest setting up Forge and then applying the LiteLoader patch to it so that you have the best of both worlds: the ability to use any of those 2 mod types. Here is a step by step guide I once wrote on the process, maybe it can help you:

And if not then be sure to leave any specific questions there (doesn't matter that the thread is old); I'm pretty sure that there are plenty of players besides myself who might be able to help out.

    Hope this can help!
