  3. IMO it should be more
IMO it should be like this if it does change...

    100r or less-5r per opening

    101-10k - 10r per opening

    10.001k to 20k - 20r per opening

And so every 10k is another 10r, with a maximum at like 50r or so, leave your opinions
  4. Lets not, keep it to 10r or get rid of it altogether, there is no need to increase it.
  5. I am only modestly wealthy, but even at 1% that would be prohibitive. At the rate I use the vault I would be paying 10,000+ rupees a day.

Or course, given that I am modestly wealthy I could really just buy 2 more pages to bring me up to 5 total, anyway. ;)
  6. Just buy the extra vault pages old chum. I am sure you can afford them.
  7. I got excited when I saw this thread. I was looking forward to a 72volt post discussing the pro's and con's of a flat tax.

    :D

  9. If it was 1% of your balance I would be paying 5k per vault if it wasn't free.
  10. Shh faithy...
    Don't tell him that..

Yeah even 1% I would be paying 8k per time opening vault (If I didnt have 5 vault pages) And I really don't think that would be fair really.
  11. Nope, perfectly fair.... >: D

  12. It was a joke, and it's a secret... but you can have fractional/decimal percentages. Don't get your panties in a knot.
  13. HoW do u buy more pages
  14. /help vault has all the commands I believe :)
  15. Or just use /vault expand :)
  16. How much does a page cost
  17. 10,000 rupees.
  18. Uh, wouldn't that be 100? By not voting?
  19. *sigh.....*
I remember the not-so good old days when I was super poor. Like, we're talking I thought 200 rupees was a fortune. While I was testing out different commands, I opened the vault and wasted 10 rupees, which put me at about a 60 rupee wealth.
I will never forget those times. I agree, it should be removed. It has no point really.

  20. Actually if you go by fractions that would immediately crash the server:

imagine if someone reaches 0r ... if you have to take 1% of 0 ... that's the same as 0/100 ... and when you divide by zero - it gives you the undefined error; with Java programming (what the server runs on), it would gives a run-time error on the server and could possibly crash the server depending how it handles it.

-unless of-course ... if it was made... there would be a parse on the catch part of the try statement so it wouldn't even execute the 'opening the vault-command' when the amount is at 0 ...

but even then with the exceptions it would still cause issues because EMC doesn't currently run on decimal places within their currency... so if it was less than 100r (currently 90 more than current currency) it would cause an error at per say 1% because it would be a decimal place ... and in java using a decimal but outputting as an integer can also cause problems...

Especially per say that the only way to convert it from decimal to integer would be to round it up or down... and that would also cause problems within the community because say I had 250 rupees and it took 1% of that... that would be 2.5 ... and it would round it up to 3.0r ... so i would in a sense be losing a rupee because it rounds it to the nearest whole.

    ----

Personally I don't believe there should be a vault price - it just clutters up my rupee history page - and if you accidentally open your vault or if you open your vault a lot ... it adds up and you lose valuable money... especially if for instance you have two or more accounts and you use one account only for a shop or as your bank account... and you only put money on another account when buying something...

or (if you only have one account too) Imagine if you buy an inventory full of items using all your money and try opening up your vault... you didn't have enough money to open your vault and take it back to your server... (and sometimes people aren't generous enough to lend 10r) ... so you'd have to sacrifice a few items to get money back or you'd have to (if you have more than one account) spend time to bring up your other account and transfer money... and for what? 10r ... seems like a lot of hassle to me.

So for me I think no vault fee ... but if not, then just have a set price (because of the decimal errors i said earlier)
