there is definitely going to be more than one correct answer. I'm gonna say effort.

put in the value 6 and you get out the value 6 of somthing else.
put in the value 1000 and you get out the value of 1000 of somthing else.
you give more, you get more. this works for:
energy, effort, hope, love, hate, etc. You might not get back the same thing you gave.

If you want the exact same thing back the only thing that works is:

I'm going to be giving more than one hint on this because my cousin and his college friends made this up over break, it isn't on the internet for cheaters to answer, and it is very hard. The riddle is "The problem was solved with a BANG"; what was the problem that was solved with a BANG? You can ask yes or no questions and I'll answer them.

Hint 1) "The truck drivers problem was solved with a BANG".

Are you guys just not asking questions or has no one seen my riddle yet?
