   Normally, once the enderdragon is killed, the place where it falls spawns a portal back to the wild. On top of this portal is an egg which cannot be mined (acts as bedrock) but can be manipulated to fall as an item that as it also acts like sand or gravel and if it falls on a torch or gets push up by a piston, it drops as an item. These eggs are destroyed when new servers are added, as well as the dragon being killed, to prevent way too much drama that would happen otherwise..
